What do you think about this? I am very torn. Yes, the leaked photos of the crash were surely traumatic and should have never been published. However, Vanessa Bryant probably has more money than she needs to live a very good life. Awarding her $16 million seems excessive to me when there are those out there who can barely afford to eat. I know life isn't fair, and the wealthy just get wealthier, but when I saw this it just seemed ridiculous. I'm happy to hear other opinions.

No opinions. I feel the same way that you do. There are so many poverty stricken people who could use some of that $$$$$$$$$$. And I don't like her attitude either. She seems to be very self absorbed.

people seem to only respond by huge settlements .... and while i believe the people who passed pictures around should be punished .... if they were paying the settlement perhaps but nope . Will cost the average person in taxes or less services since county will pay.

How is the county ( taxpayers) paying out huge fix the behavior....?
If a accident with another celebrity happens ...... no one stops because they cost taxpayers they would share photos again.
 

She has already said she plans to give the money to charity.
Of course, the money should be paid by the idiot cops, but that will never happen. Cops are immune from any monetary judgments - which is why they do things like this.
 
How would you feel if your loved ones were charred to death and their pictures posted publicly.

I suppose by fighting the case it should deter those a...h in the guise of human beings from doing this over again. If you and i were in her shoes i doubt we would get this attention. So i suppose she makes a point being who she is.
 
In a non-criminal lawsuit, the only way to get "justice" is cash. Also, there are two types of compensation. ( I'm no attorney, now) One is for money you have actually lost, and the other is used to punish. Those huge fines, in most cases, are the way juries punish what the evil doers did. Very rarely do any of those huge fines ever get paid. Most settle for way less.
