It's hard to get it going, I often wondered if it's a bad idea in the first place. If seniors talk a lot about health, pain, or even death, will it make SF a depressing place that no one wants to come?
I have days that I am so depressed but I come to this forum and my depression disappears! It is great medicine for me! Thank you Matrix!

It helps to be able to talk about the physical challenges and even death with people who can relate. It provides a service that is hard to find elsewhere. People our age generally have come to terms with aging and death and sometimes even to say something simple to a younger person about aging or mortality brings an immediate response of denial and a brush off. Younger people are uncomfortable talking about it and seniors need to. It is not depressing, it provides comfort.

Matrix I also want to thank you for this forum. Creating this forum probably means more to some than you will ever know. I get the impression that for some members this is their daily social spot, and also their safe place for discussion and questions.

Touching lives in a positive way is an incredible gift, I am humbled by your contribution to humanity.

A word to the wise, Matrix. Try to keep membership between 200 and 400. I ran 2 groups on FB when I had an account there, and our membership grew to a couple of thousands in each. It was almost impossible to keep a constant eye on what was happening. I finally restructured both groups, turned them over to others willing to run them with a lesser number of members, and deactivated my FB account. This forum of yours runs smoothly for the most part, and I have found that you respond with dispatch to any and all situations. I think you'd find that difficult to do with too many members. My experience here has been quite positive for the most part, due to how well you have it structured.

Note that the current number of members is 5,318, under Forum Statistics.

Well so might I be....I don't consider a senior person as a senior until they are perhaps 70+?
Understood, years ago I thought anyone over 40 was really old, a senior. Now that I am almost 70 the mark has moved considerably.

Except when it's good for a discount, I always think of seniors as people much older than I am.... If I live long enough there may be no living seniors...

Thread titles make a difference. This one gave members a chance to say how much this site is appreciated. So along with the other poster I want to say how much I appreciate a great place to come to post thoughts & opinions.
