I Got Suspended From My Mental Health Forum

My crime?

I related this story where I was watching a TV show about the Roman Empire and there was this really fat guy in a toga. I turned to my friends and said "That must be Balonious."

My friends were a little stoned, and started giggling like little school girls.

And then BAM! I got suspended by the Moderators for 8 days. I'm not sure if it was the fat joke or the mention of weed. It was nothing. I'm a little overweight and I smoke a few times a year.

What a joke! I'm considering never returning to that forum again...I'm still fuming!
 
These days, it doesn't take much to get suspended/banned from any social media site. One of the ladies here got suspended from Fakebook for giving too many "likes". Another friend was suspended for posting a picture of a cat that looked like Hitler.

It's unfortunate Bella...

There are many individuals struggling on that forum and I always lighten things up with my corny jokes. I love the people on the site, but the Moderating Team is wacked...they treat you like 4 year old children. We're all adults with varying afflictions...but adults nonetheless.

I'm going to have to decide if I will continue with that forum.
 
I don't mean to be judgmental at all, but most of the Moderators prefer to be called 'they' or 'them'...you know...by pronouns instead of 'he' or 'she'.

I'm totally cool with that. But I figure if you come from a place or viewpoint where you are marginalized by society, would you not be less judgmental yourself...more open-minded and just plain fairer to others?

The opposite is occurring. They've become this clique of politically correct ideologues whereby anything you say gets construed as offensive. It truly boggles my mind...the hypocrisy and incongruity of it all.

Your remark Bella, "they treat you like children," just about says it all. Why bother with them?
