Elizabeth Queen of Scots

Mike
would you ever return to Scotland to live?
I would love to go back Robin Wren, but!

I have lived out of Scotland longer than I ever lived in it,
too old, too late and it is too cold for me, I fear.

"Scotland is thought to be the largest producer of oil and the second largest producer of gas in Europe. The oil and gas industry currently supports around 196,000 jobs in Scotland. In 2016, it contributed around £13 billion to Scotland's GDP (about 12% of the total).Feb 21, 2022"

The link is a Scottish Government one, the Scottish National Party.

There is one smallish refinery in Grangemouth and an oil and gas terminal
at Sullom Voe, Shetland Isles.

I am not sure if any gas comes from a Scottish/British, Rig today, most comes
from Norway, after it arrives in the Shetlands, it needs to be processed, I don't
know if they do any there, they do, do gas.

The production was high till 2018, when the Brent and Ninian pipelines were
shut down.

When oil was discovered in the North Sea, it was a boon for Scotland, in the
1960s, later when the Tony Blair, Labour Government arrived, 1997, they Made
the North Sea English, yes I know it sound stupid, but it is a fact, so Scotland is
today a, place that oils passes through on its way to be processed.

As far as I know!!

Your reply would be mine Mike, I do not think that I could ever go back to the UK although I would be central to two of my children. Last week waking up to fog and having to walk the dog reminded me of dreary winter mornings having to walk to the bus stop to catch the bus in the fog. The good old days

Fog is hardly ever reported RobinWren, I think that
twice last year it was in the South East of England.

With the hot temperatures we are getting, the main
warning is too much sun and too much pollen for the
Hay Fever sufferers or those with Sinus troubles, but
you would be safe from fog.

Mike.
