Tell Everyone Where You Live, State/Province/ Country

I'm in suburban Maryland, just outside of DC. Born in NYC, grew up in NJ, lived there for many years, then we moved down to MD. After 17 years here, we retired and moved to beautiful Bainbridge Island in WA state, and lived there for 18 years, ended up coming back to MD to be near our son.

I was born and grew up in northern Idaho, lots of places to ride my horse. After getting married, I lived mainly in Washington, both the Spokane area, and near Mt. St. Helens.
Lived in Missouri for a while, loved it there, too, then back to north Idaho again.

Now, I live in northern Alabama. My daughter stayed here after she retired from the military, and asked us to come out and live closer to her.
We have been here about 15 years now. I like it here, no snow; but my heart still lives in Idaho.

Me, on the snow piled up in front of our house, early 1950’s, with my collie dog, Bonzo, Sandpoint, Idaho.

Born in Kentucky lived there, in Indiana and Wisconsin growing up.

Joined the Army at age 17 1/2 and went to VN just after my 19th birthday and ended up being there for 5 years and 9 months......1 year and 4 months in the Army and the rest working as a civilian.

After VN I took jobs in Libya and on a little island in Indonesia both for over two years each.

Finally hung up my suitcases and settled here in Oklahoma in about 81' or 82' and have been here ever since.

Cleburne, Texas......one county south of Ft. Worth.

Previously, Southlake, Texas until 2021....immediately Northwest of DFW airport. Amazingly we were living on Sweet Street.

Born in High Point, NC. Moved to Tampa, FL in 1966 when I was a kid due to my Dad's career. Moved to Miami in 1988 when I was in my late 20's due to my career. Moved to Dallas, TX in 2016 as a quality of life decision. Love it here.

I live in Marin County California, in a rural area a few miles north of the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a great place and good to be away from San Francisco. Today, October 10, is Columbus Day and reminds me of a former home in Spain where I lived during two years of my Navy days -- Puerto de Santa Maria. Puerto was not far from where Columbus recruited much of his crews for the voyage to the New World. The Spanish were convinced that Columbus was Jewish. Many Jews were driven out of Spain by an anti-Jewish pogrom following the departure of Muslims from Spain. Many of those Jews, which included Columbus's family, settled in Italy where Columbus was born. He is believed to have been fluent in Spanish and elected to return to his ancestral home to finance and assemble his fleet to seek out the New World. Present day Spaniards hold him in great esteem. I'd add that I am more than a little perturbed that his memory is being spat upon by some Americans who wish to tear down his many statues.

Born in Oregon

All over the place (rather rootless)

Then
Texas
Washington State
BC
China

Now Oregon
I have some relatives who live in Happy Valley Oregon. When a Cambodian immigrant I worked with was victim of a reorganization and laid off from his job in San Francisco I told him of my fondness for Oregon. One of my relatives helped him get settled, and he has gone on to be a huge success in his now not so new job. He loves Oregon and was relieved when his daughters could go to school there, rather than in his old home town of Richmond California.

I lived there for a while. I made nails. After a while I moved on. Downtown was very clean at the time. Not a bad place to be. I felt like I had stepped back into the Fifties. According to the newspaper at the time there were two clubs that kept blowing up each others used car lots.
