A 22 year old murder case has been solved through the use of DNA evidence that was collected back then, but could not be tested in that time period.

Wow, I'm glad they seemed to have caught this individual. I hope it helps the family.

I believe they found that golden state killer due to DNA from a family member who had theirs's done on Ancestry or some other place. I don't know if you can choose to make your results public or not or how that works. I've never looked into it since i never plan to have mine done.

Thank god for DNA, there has been a few prisoners released because their DNA proved they had no connection with the crime they were accused of.

Yep, it works both ways. Justice delayed is better than no justice. I think some of the project innocence people found not guilty long after conviction has shaken our faith in the system a bit. Hope changes are made to reduce, ideally eliminate, false guiltys... Those bother me more than the ones who get away.
