I invited Pops to attend Royal Rangers, a Christian-based scouting group. He was a more experienced outdoorsman than anyone there but he didn’t really attend church. What does the jackass leader do his very first visit? “Blank, would you like to lead the group in prayer?” Pops replies “I don’t pray.” You know what else he never did again? Attend a meeting.

Their loss, Pops could do it all. (Except fake it) Here was a guy that was a self-taught sharpshooter but, he was just as satisfied looking at a deer through a scope or binoculars and letting him walk away. It was more about the experience, no lie.

He’s still around but not as agile. I visit him Thursday. Yay.

I don’t recall making any of these leaders quit like I did my Sunday School teacher, lol. He quit and said “there’s nothing I can do for you guys!” Lol. Who leads like that? What a wimp!
