Postage Rates to Increase Again

In January, first class envelope not exceeding 1 oz. will increase to 63¢, a 3 cent increase.

Well that sucks.
I almost never mail anything, but I thought a regular postage stamp was 58 cents.
I'm irked enough that I actually had to pay to put in a forwarding order for moving.

A regular first class postage stamp is an atrocious price here.. 95p.. and a second class 68p...

Yup, I saw that a couple of days ago. I stopped by the post office yesterday, and bought 2 sheets of "forever" stamps.....that should last us the better part of this next year, At least it's only a few cents, instead of things like groceries which have gone up 25 to 50 percent over the past couple of years.

Yes and they increased their post office box prices significantly as well and have lost this customer. They jumped from $146 a year for the last 12 month period to $182 a year starting Oct 31 (for me) and I have the smallest box. I will close my box by Oct 30th. In 2018, 2019 and 2020 the box was $89, $106 and $118 respectively. I still have several Forever stamps left and very rarely send snail mail anymore, so I'm good with postage for quite awhile.

@JaniceM I didn't know they started charging to have mail forwarded to new addresses. Wow!

Be glad you are not in Canada. A stamp here is $1.07

A 3 cent increase in postage? Really, it's not that much of an increase. Yeah, postage was 3 cents a long time ago, but when was the last time you could buy a brand new Ford for $399.
