Hope this doesn't offend the easily offended

Make sure you vote, but do so wisely. Understand what the Constitution actually states as opposed to someone's interpretation of it.

See that each branch of the government deals only with that which they are charged with. Not interfering elsewhere.
The constitution was written to be open to interpretation. That's why the Supreme Court exists. That's why there are amendments.

Hope this doesn't offend the easily offended
That's pretty condescending, are you having a bad day?

I really don’t give a Rats ass who this offends, I stand by all I say. Collapse is coming, sooner or later!
You can thank the Government!! They are all a bunch of cowards!
They raised the cost of living so high that both parents are always at work, rather than spending time with their children.
They took God out of schools.
Parents were told 'No you can't discipline your kids'. Well, now most of those kids are rude and out of control.
You shall reap what you sow! We have taken a whole generation and turned them into selfish, entitled brats who have no respect for people, property or authority!
They deem people with terminal illnesses and some with only a few months to live… unfit for help, but, fit for work!!!
They allow our veterans of war to go homeless and hungry but give out millions to foreign aid!!!
They save drug addicts over and over again but refuse to give free diabetic supplies to those who need them to stay alive.
They bend over backwards to be politically correct, too scared to say enough is enough, in case you offend someone.
They put the retirement age up so people must work until they drop.
They take care of prisoners and give them everything under the sun (food, medical, education, representation, money, rehabilitation) yet they cause the elderly... you know, those that have paid their debt to society and their families buy working hard paying taxes and living a lawful life to go broke caring for them either at home or in a nursing home.
THINGS NEED TO CHANGE!
Ok, (deep breath), ranting is over.
Rest assured, nobody gives a rat's ass enough about your opinion to be offended. Typical gloom & doom, nothing new here.

If you dwell in the negative, guess what...you're world is **magically**...negative.

I think a lot of people feel like that right now. I guess though, our parents also felt the same way. I know my mum and dad had to count the pennies and had far less than I have had so, perhaps some of it is perception and then there's the media, the media loves bad news.

This is rather negative. I do not believe the current generation is any worse than we were, maybe no better, but certainly no worse. They are pretty much what we made them.

And I don't like a lot of what the government does either, but the government is of our making. Our responsibility. Sure there are lots of special interests that influence things, but to some extent they could not get away with that if we insisted on change. Much of it comes down to voting, if there is a fault for all this it is our choice when we vote...
Collapse is coming, sooner or later!
Of course it is, sooner or later it's inevitable. We are responsible to do our best not to let it happen on our watch.
THINGS NEED TO CHANGE!
Things are and will continue to change, its our responsibility to make those changes for the best.

You spoke your mind candidly and honestly, that doesn't offend me.

@squatting dog I saw the very same rant on Facebook 3 years ago.
It did not offend me then and it does not offend me now.
I made it to facebook? cool. :)
This would be the second time something I wrote about 7 years ago made it to facebook. Maybe I'm an internet celebrity and don't know it.

@squatting dog I can't decide if I'm easily offended or not. :unsure: However I sure agree with most of your post!

I'd keep any religion out of school but OK for people to have it. I don't know if we are going to collapse but I can't stand the snowflake/cupcake mentality. I'm not going to tiptoe around anyone anymore. And no, we let too many people go without the care they need.

As a matter of fact, I was having a bad day. (I have those ups and downs quite often). Sometimes it's hard to be upbeat, but, I keep trying.

The problem is us people. We have evolved into the most intelligent and resourceful species on the planet yet we will more than likely destroy ourselves. The reasons are many upon many, but the foundation of our destruction is we are simply too aggressive and hungry to stop ourselves.

My friends father.. used to moan and whine about his taste in Music back in the early 60's.. his father said ''what's this rubbish..'She loves you Yeah, Yeah, yeah'' ?..call that music that's not music... turn that noise off...

The father admitted when he was young his own father, my friends' grandfather, used to be infuriated by his son's taste in music also...

His father would denounce his son as a Music charlatan.. .. that this horrible popular noise was a Stain on those who could create real music.. and they should be banished from whence they came..

Who was my friends' grandfather demanding his son should Stop playing that Noise now, about ?

Bing Crosby !!!:ROFLMAO:

I wonder who is it that these grievances would offend, it surely is not me. I have been told in the past that I am like a duck's back, shit just rolls off of me. I would like to add one more thing to the list that I have been feeling for the last week or so. Lots of good people do not get the recognition they deserve; it is bad people that get recognition and help that they do not deserve!

Not just some person, but the Courts. It is not possible to strictly interpret the Constitution, except for absolute facts, such as a person must be at least 35 to be President, etc.

IMO: We get the leaders we deserve.
Absolutely, "Things need to change" and that begins with the thoughts
and words we send into the atmosphere.
WE need to change.

It's imperative we Americans keep the U.S. Constitution intact as it now stands.
4-28-21 the president said, "No amendment to the Constitution is absolute."
This is not true! We have to hold this as truth from wiser men with incredible foresight.

All our problems seem so unimportant when we consider the enormity
of the eternity around us.
I thought Lewkat's words very intelligent and Squatting Dog's comments
to be bold and courageous. The rest of us are adjusting to the world as it is
and hoping someone will stand up and be our voice.
Someone who speaks rightly can be swiftly drowned out by a voice
that is only witty, jabbing, clever and sometimes cruel.

Years ago, I made a poster along those lines

Desiderata - Words for Life

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

— Max Ehrmann, 1927

Desiderata - Words for Life
"Deteriorata" - National Lampoon

You are a fluke of the universe. You have no right to be here.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste,
And remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.
Avoid quiet and passive persons, unless you are in need of sleep.
Rotate your tires.
Speak glowingly of those greater than yourself,
And heed well their advice, even though they be turkeys.
Know what to kiss, and when.
Consider that two wrongs never make a right, but that three do.
Wherever possible, put people on hold.
Be comforted that in the face of all aridity and disillusionment,
and despite the changing fortunes of time,
There is always a big future in computer maintenance.

Remember The Pueblo.
Strive at all times to bend, fold, spindle, and mutilate.
Know yourself. If you need help, call the FBI.
Exercise caution in your daily affairs,
Especially with those persons closest to you -
That lemon on your left, for instance.
Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls
Would scarcely get your feet wet.
Fall not in love therefore. It will stick to your face.
Gracefully surrender the things of youth: birds, clean air, tuna, Taiwan.
And let not the sands of time get in your lunch.
Hire people with hooks.
For a good time, call 606-4311. Ask for Ken.
Take heart in the bedeepening gloom
That your dog is finally getting enough cheese.
And reflect that whatever fortune may be your lot,
It could only be worse in Milwaukee.

You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
And whether you can hear it or not,
The universe is laughing behind your back.

Therefore, make peace with your god,
Whatever you perceive him to be - hairy thunderer, or cosmic muffin.
With all its hopes, dreams, promises, and urban renewal,
The world continues to deteriorate.
Give up!
