Anyone know if Java Script can cause problems?

Something like 3 years ago, Java Script stopped running on my PC....due to licensing issues, according to their error message. I never uninstalled it, it just never ran, and I'd get that error message every time I did a restart or shut down.

Today I got a request from Java Script to allow an upgrade. Assuming they figured out the licensing issues, I allowed the installation. (I run Firefox, btw).

Anyhow, my PC did just fine without JS - I didn't notice any difference whatsoever while it was gone - so does anyone know if it'd be just as well to completely uninstall it? I mean, it's been so long I don't even remember what any JS advantages were.

Thanks!

Some Websites use Javascript, but also I don't remember it being charged for. Sometimes it was, maybe still can be a security risk. I would have a professional local technician review your system. (Find a gray haired tech)

Several years ago JavaScript got a bad reputation, I can't
remember the details, but I believe that hackers could get
access to your machine through it!

I removed it from my computer and never put it back, I have
found no problems without it.

Mike.
