Let's talk Christmas :-)

When I was a kid, Christmas was hit or miss. Then when I got married and had children, it was full of lights and music and food and presents and people. It all died down over time, especially after I got divorced. I still love the holidays (starting with Thanksgiving all the way through to New Year's Day) but there is less hustle and bustle now. And that's really not a bad thing at this point in my life. I mentioned elsewhere in another thread that I Christmas shop all year round so I spread the expense of the cost of gifts throughout all 12 months.

As I've mentioned, we didn't have Christmas growing up and my mother isolated us from my stepfather's family who were really big on holidays.

I don't do a tree, but the thrift stores are rolling out the holiday stuff and I decorate. I keep fall/winter stuff up for 6 months and then the spring/summer (bunnies, chicks etc) for 6 months

I'm gettin' Favicons for Christmas!

Let's face it, Xmas is for kids. Santa, elves. And getting whatever plastic toy was shown on TV. The Xmas I'll always remember was when I was 15 and my mom & dad were going to Midnight Mass, and I had to put together my 5 year old brother's toy gas station. It was a lot of "Tab 2A into slot 3B". I'm not sure how he did it, but he woke up @ 4:30. For him, it was Xmas. For mom, dad and me, it was where's the coffee?
