I want to put this on local online selling sites. It's 14 inches (36 cm) tall and has a white iridescent colored fabric costume with gold colored trim. It's in good condition. What do you think would be a reasonable price to ask (in American dollars)?

Give it a little more time? Santa collectors might find it attractive, but it isn't antique. I doubt it's even vintage...it looks too clean. And I don't think the fabrics on it were made before the 90's.

Do you have a consignment store near you? I'm not sure Father Christmas would be a big seller in todays' market. Of course, with my business acumen, that is why I'm a multi-billionaire.

I just checked eBay, but they had over 100,000 listed. They went every price from $5 to $100. I think $10 is a good price

I think that whatever price you ask, potential buyers will try to get you to take less. So price it at more than $10 to take that into account. I have no idea what a fair price would be. Maybe look on eBay to see if the same Santa has sold there? You can look at recent sales through the search function.

You might have to just close your eyes and drop him in a bin.

If it had a hand sculpted clay face and hands, mine sell for $100 to $250. But a plastic face you will get $0 to $5.00.

It's the old "if it costs that much, it could be worth more!" gimmick.

I did get a few nibbles, but they are suspicious inquiries - i.e. asking for my phone number and they will not commit to a day and time to pick up. Same old, same old.

Haven't had any further inquiries, so I've deleted the ad. I think part of the problem is that I live far away from the population centers and I will not ship, meet people someplace or deliver. I specify that the buyer must come to my house. That puts a lot of people off that are accustomed to Amazon style service.

Put it away until next garage sale season. Or donate it to a place or person that needs some decorations.

The big issue is that garage sale season is in the summer when people aren't thinking about or interested in Christmas. Tough enough to sell in season. Most of the people I know already have enough decorations.
