Do you use coupons?

I have always been an avid coupon user. I traded coupons the old way by mail using a couponers book way back lol.I was on many coupon forums for years and then the printable s took over and trading by mail dried up.

Coupons do save money in my opinion but you have to match with sales and it takes effort and time to coupon.Printables take ink so you have to set your printer to use less ink and try and find high value coupons to print to off set the cost of ink.I always say if you can save a buck at the store save it.

Yes, I have in the past. Usually for a restaurant..by 1 get 1. Some store coupons, too.

Haven't really seen any around lately though. (n)

No. Most are for things I wouldn't buy, e.g. expensive brands.

Trying to keep track of them took too much mental energy anyway. For example, I'd forget to present the coupon.

I like to keep things simple.

I'm not fond of coupons. I only remember to use them when I get home from the store. And I'm always behind the 'coupon lady' at the checkout. She has a file of coupons, most of which expired 2 years ago. But she's trying to use them, and they won't scan. The current ones are crumpled up, so they won't scan. The clerk has to enter a humongous number by hand. She has a bunch of products and coupons for them-only the coupons are from another manufacturer, so the store won't take the coupons. Now, it's decision time is she going to buy the products or put them back. It's STILL decision time, she is in no hurry. Now, you know she's going to want to write a check, and doesn't have an account with the store - "Manager to register 3." AHHHHHH.

I used to get coupons with the daily paper but don't get it anymore. They do send me a few coupons for fast food items and occasionally I go to one of them and use the coupon. That's about it.

I use them a lot, especially for cat food, cat treats and cat litter.

Oh gosh those crazy coupon people!! I've been stuck behind them before. Who really needs 38 razors? And some coupons say one per purchase, so that's 38 transactions while the rest of us are totally stuck.

My ex always had numerous Burger King coupons. I don't know where he got them. He would only eat at Burger King -- nowhere else -- because we could eat there for next to nothing.

When we got married, he said we'd take our witnesses and guest to Burger King to celebrate. I said we couldn't insult them in that way, and I insisted we take them to a decent restaurant. One of the guests paid anyway.

His daughter had been through a rough time and moved back with her two children. He invited them for a Burger King meal. On the way there, his daughter said she'd appreciate going to McDonald's instead, because there was a play area and her children needed cheering up.

At McDonald's the total came to almost $50. My husband was standing there with a shocked look on his face and a $20 bill in his hand. His daughter said she would pay. I said No you won't, and I paid.

I remember hearing that stores HATED that Extreme Couponing show...where people use a shoot load of coupons to get $400 of groceries for $5 or something. Made for even more couponers, watching every keystroke, and buying ALL THAT STUFF . Made everyone think they could do that too. Who has the time or energy to do all that??

While I agree some people are extreme couponers I am not. I always try and be kind to people in the checkout and let people who may be going to work or school go ahead of me if I have coupons.

I have learned at Walmart their brand on many items is more than name so if I have coupon for an item I compare the two and get what is cheapest.

Living on such a tight budget in these times of such high prices I do what is needed to make our money stretch if at all possible.
