What Are You Paying For Gasoline at the Pump now?

£7.42 per UK gallon, equates to USD $7.47 per U.S. Gallon. Having said that, the U.K. petrol octane rating and refinery formulation is nearer to U.S. Mid Grade. This formulation results in much less ethanol additives being used in the U.K.
that's because instead of 4.5 litres in a gallon you get 3.78 litres in a US gallon which is £7.47 if you are comparing gallon for gallon... but I am correct in stating that what we pay per gallon is £7.42 which equates to $8.88 USD.. albeit we get around 2/3rds of a litre more more for the price..

We have several grades of fuel at the pumps.. Unleaded which is now (since 2021) Called E10 (95 Octane). Premium Unleaded (95 RON).. and super unleaded E10... 97/98 RON)..

The E10 is the cheapest unleaded at the pumps, at around £1.65 per litre.. the others are more expensive.. with a low cc engine as I have , most people use the that in their cars, whereas those with higher powered engines like my husband with a Maserati..opt for Super Unleaded.. , altho' there's a higher premium to pay..

I just rec'vd my state issued gas card today in the mail. (i mentioned this already somewhere on this forum)
Because we have the highest gas prices on the planet here in California!

Our Governor saw fit to help us out a little bit. For a single person, such as my self, I rec'vd $350. Married couples rec've more.

Wow that's great. I hope it helped.

I've noticed prices in my area have come down a lot and on the news just now they say we can expect to pay less than 3.00 a gallon by Christmas.

The cheapest in my area is 3.21 cents per gallon.

How much is yours?
Not to diverse, but -

In 1949 I had my first bike. A 1947 Harley, 74 cubic inch jobber. I was fifteen at the time. There was a period I didn't have a part time job to earn gas money for my rides into the countryside surrounding Chicago. I got the money by going up and down our alley and collecting Pepsi and Coke bottles that had been thrown away in the garbage. I got two cents for each one. Most times I collected enuf to fill the Harley's tank. Gas, at some of the cheaper, lesser brand stations could be as low as nineteen to twenty-five cents a gal.

Just thought I'd mention that.

In the past few days, I've seen prices between $2.89 and $3.09 in our area, for Regular....down nicely from a few months ago, but still almost $1 above what the price usually is this time of year.

Most gas stations around San Jose are still within $4.50 to $5.25 that have dropped about $1/gal over the last month plus. Using gasbuddies dot com with cash can be significantly less.
