that's because instead of 4.5 litres in a gallon you get 3.78 litres in a US gallon which is £7.47 if you are comparing gallon for gallon... but I am correct in stating that what we pay per gallon is £7.42 which equates to $8.88 USD.. albeit we get around 2/3rds of a litre more more for the price..£7.42 per UK gallon, equates to USD $7.47 per U.S. Gallon. Having said that, the U.K. petrol octane rating and refinery formulation is nearer to U.S. Mid Grade. This formulation results in much less ethanol additives being used in the U.K.

Not too bad. Nationally gas prices are supposed to drop to under 3.00 by ChristmasCitgo, $3.33, as of 4 hours ago, per Gasbuddy.
Not to diverse, but -I've noticed prices in my area have come down a lot and on the news just now they say we can expect to pay less than 3.00 a gallon by Christmas.
The cheapest in my area is 3.21 cents per gallon.

Go to costco if you have one near you ... around 10 p a litre cheaper...for Diesel and Petrol£1.72 per Litre here today for Diesel.

Our garages it's £7.11 per gallon for unleaded... at Costco... it's £6.57 per gallon...Still expensive here. I'm paying 3.59-3.79 per gallon. Haven't paid less than 3. per gall in months.
