Last 7 days I got 13 pieces of mail; 12 of which were junk mail. Beat that!

I have lost count. But my cousin told me a fun way to "pay it forward" . If your junk comes with a pre paid return envelope....put some of your other junk mail inside and send it back, They then have to pay the postage for having junk sent back to them

I have made a deal with my Canada Post mail carrier. We have 2 mail boxes on our porch. One for things that are actually addressed to us, and the other one for flyers and junk. He has to deliver the mail and the junk mail, per his job description with Canada Post, but he also is OK with putting the junk in a different box. At the end of each week I take the junk paper out to the recycling bin, and the city waste management truck empties it into their compactor bin. I make sure our steps leading up to the porch are kept clear of ice or snow every day of his work week, for his safety. He is getting close to retirement age, so he sure does not need a fall injury. JImB.

Here's what you hear at our house every few days: "Junk, junk, junk, junk, junk, statement, junk, junk, junk, statement, junk, junk, junk, bill, junk, junk, junk....."

I get junk mail almost everyday. Maybe 25 of them a week. Mostly medicare crap I couldn't care less about.

I beat that last year.. on just one piece of Mail... I have subscription to just one monthly magazine.. and when it arrived I had to throw out 17 leaflets , brochures and begging letters inside it before I could read it... I took a picture and posted it here, but I can't find it now.. but that magazine is still enclosing all that garbage inside every issue..

Yes, I've decided to 'beat 'em'..I pick up the phone and don't speak...till I hear the dit,dit,dit..that they've hung up...maybe The Big Computer In The SKy..will realize.. there's no one to annoy!

My mail is all being forwarded to my daughter. The post office is not supposed to forward junk mail, but apparently they do because my daughter regularly complains about all the junk mail.

I don't think the individual mail carrier "makes money " from junk mail. I think he meant that the USPS makes money from it, and that allows the USPS to be able to pay increased wages for their employees. JimB.

Oh, I get far more than that! Only 2-3 I will respond to or keep for the sake of bills. Receipts were enough back in the day. lol

I do look at every piece of mail before I deem it junk. I once came close to tossing a new credit card sent in an unmarked envelope which was sent when the old was nearing expiration.

My postman says the same.. he says my sign on the door saying ''no junk mail or cold caller'' can't apply to him. As part of his contract to deliver mail he has to deliver the junk too..

However my sign has save a Huge amount of junk that other people.. estate agents, leaflet distributors, charity bags.. everything like that has stopped. It was getting completely out of hand

I can't but when my stepfather was in the hospital he got 72 in two days. I almost started screaming. I called, wrote, emailed and returned for almost 300 organizations. Some of them were sending solicitations two times a week.

Do you think he was making donations and would forget he had done that? I realized this was happening to my mother. It felt awful doing it but I wrote “deceased” on them and return to sender. Finally stopped those.

We’re permitted to put a label inside our community boxes saying that we don’t accept junk mail. I don’t do it because I like the flyers for fast food places. I don’t really get that much mail. Why I keep the fast food flyers is a mystery; I don’t eat in those places but maybe I will some day.
