Old topic, but I just watched a recently filmed 2 hr documentary...is Amanda Knox guilty? I haven't followed the case nearly as much as others, but I have finally formed an opinion in watching tonight's show.

What do you think?

Truthfully I dont watch or listen to all those shows especially the ones on HLN,so full of crap .IMO

Ive heard of this Amanda Knox but know very little about her.

I cannot imagine the horror of being in a foreign country with no family and being that age in that serious a situation. I think she is/was innocent. I think her actions were wrongly interpreted in the time after the murder. I cannot imagine the helplessness she must have felt in prison. We all react differently in times of shock and tragedy.

More legal machinations due in the Amanda Knox case.

As much I am not thrilled with the Italian justice system and at times a malicious prosecution to prove guilt and not the truth I am not totally convinced she is innocent. Guilty or not if she is forced to undergo yet another trial I agree double jeopardy should kick in. But at the same time the US should honor the treaties it agrees to if for no other reason so we can get US fugitives extradited from another country. This means Knox should be sent back if required.

One thing that gets lost in the shuffle is the case against Knox's boyfriend Rafaele Sollecito. Apparently his DNA was found in several locations at the crime scene including the victims bra strap. There are also rumors, theories or speculation that Sollecito promised the drug dealer Guede some women to pay off a drug debt. When Kercher wouldn't help him out that's when all heck broke lose-just one of several theories. There is also another theory that Guede was a police informant and the police needed another perpetrator to maintain his usefullness. These are unsubstantiated but the sloppy case is not the only thing going on here.

No matter how you put in the US I would not have voted Knox guilty with the same case that was used in Italy. Doesn't mean she is innocent.

All the back and forth is ridiculous. I just heard of the news that Amanda Knox is awaiting a verdict on the appeal, which is supposed to be rendered this evening.

So how many times was she tried? I haven't actually been following this myself.

Twice.

Tried in 2009, found guilty. Acquitted and released in 2011. Retried in 2013 (but she remained in USA). Found guilty in 2014 and sentenced to 28 ½ yrs. That decision was overturned today.

This just in - Amanda Knox's murder conviction was overturned, she will not go back to Italy. Hopefully this means it's over.

Thanks, I see the news now.

I still wonder if there were some behind the door deals or pressure because this could've very easily turned into an international incident that could've set a precedent for other extraditions and treaties. And international treaty vs the US Constitution. Individual rights vs honoring international agreements.
