Why does it seem everything that requires maintenance breaks on the weekend, holiday or the most inconvenient time?

When my maternal grandmother was in the hospital one Christmas. My mom was taking care of her house. It was then that the furnace decided to go belly-up. Try getting someone to repair it at 7 pm on Christmas eve.

A few years ago, my car's heater quit in the coldest part of winter. Easy fix at dealer garage, but having to drive with no heat or defroster was a thrill.

Now my furnace makes a grating noise when it shuts down, but thankfully is working. However, my fuel guy is closed until 9 am on Monday.

Murphey's Law is Always True....."If something can go wrong, it probably will". I've had to fix/replace more items in the past few weeks than i usually do in a full year....this Fall has be a real PITA.

Yep , just been talking about this on another thread. Got snow and thick Ice here, and the Shed is leaking.. everything got soaked, all the expensive tools and the work bench etc.. There;s a lot of electricity up there.. so it worries me.. If my Estranged O/H had been here , he would have got that fixed by now.. but I have no idea what to do..not within my capabilities to even find where the leak is coming from. All I've been able to do is move everything away from the worst affected area, and cover it with a Tarpaulin.. :(

The morning of my FIL funeral, the water heater in their home blew and made quite the mess.

The morning of my MIL's funeral, the water heater blew in my house. I got out of bed, went into the master closet and the floor was flooded.

Quite odd!! I think it was both of them letting us know that they were still here along with my husband. He and his mother passed 8 days apart.

My air conditioner/heat pump capacitor blew out on 4th of July weekend. I was successful at getting a guy out to fix it at 11 pm but boy they sure charge extra for holidays and night-time.

Clearly machines are conscious. They plot and scheme against us seeking revenge for
mistreatment or overuse. I'll bet if we left a recording device in the kitchen overnight, in the morning we'd hear
the dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, and microwave saying, "Let's all break down tomorrow and drive the humans nuts! Haha"
