Altho' a few makes mentioned are not available in the UK.. and therefore don't apply.. the 2 most unreliable Manufacturers.. LG and Samsung.. are... handy Video for everyone..
odd that should be the case for you.. ..because Black and Decker have always been looked on as long lasting tools in the UK... I have a barn load of Black & Decker power tools which I've had for many years , as well as Stanley, Makita and DeWalt ..I never buy GE or Black and Decker appliances at all.
I pretty much feel the same as the YouTube guy. I believe in his conspiracy theory except I don’t think it’s an actual concerted effort by the manufacturers. I think they’ve taken design oversight from the engineers & given it to the bean counters. The bean counters are profit orientated making decisions to improve the bottom line. Many of these decisions are against the advice from the engineers. The biggest example of this business model was with Boeing’s 737 MAX.
I have always had bad luck with any GE appliance. So useful! Thanks Holly.
We got a new electric range, GE, a few months ago. All the burners on the top have about nine settings but they're all HOT! I can't simmer anything, I have to keep turning it completely off and then back on.
it may be unethical but for the manufacturers and the sellers it's a profitable win-win situation...I like my GE microwave. It's small.
When I owned that house and had the original electric water heater replaced (it starting leaking but it was in the garage so no damage done) the plumber told me that the new water heater will never last as long as that one had. He said they don't build things to last anymore. It's clearly to make money but it's unethical to purposely make something not to last.
I generally view LG electronics favorably, never bought an LG appliance, almost did buy an LG fridge, but went with Whirlpool for more desired features. I would not touch a Samsung anything with a 10 foot pole.the 2 most unreliable Manufacturers.. LG and Samsung.
I had forgotten about their early Goldstar ->Goldstar(LG) name, I viewed them as junk back then. But, LG seemed to redeem themselves and build decent quality goods. I have 2 LG flatscreen TVs(47" & 55" 4K), plus a couple computer monitors. I must have bought a dozen LG CD/DVD optic drives over the years. When LG first started making appliances they were called Goldstar.. then Lucky Goldstar.. then eventually in the 2000's.. they became LG...
We had an LG flat screen TV.. I think that was the first Flat screen we had and it was perfectly fine.. but apparently LG now have gone the same way as other cheaper brands and lost the quality in their goods..
..but they're now viewed as very poorly made.. as stated in the repair man Video...I had forgotten about their early Goldstar ->Goldstar(LG) name, I viewed them as junk back then. I'm like that too...I'll agree...Samsung IS T-H-E W-O-R-S-T...bought a VCR...years ago
Never worked right.
"Fool me once...etc. etc.etc".
No way...ever!!
Yep, the repair guy in the video doesn't like LG. I would say it depends on the specific products in question. When I was considering an LG refrigerator the customer ratings were pretty comparable to the Whirlpool model that I eventually bought. Of course, customer ratings can be quite arbitrary and uninformed, but unless one has access to years of repair records(which doesn't exist) there's little else to gauge quality by...but they're now viewed as very poorly made.. as stated in the repair man Video...
I wouldn't buy a Panasonic or GE product, but all the Sharpe TVs and microwaves I've bought have been reliable.I'm like that too...
Panasonic used to be a great make.. if we wanted reliability we bought Panasonic.. however the worst hands free digital landline phones I ever had were Panasonic... so ever since, I've never bought Panasonic phones.
The Stainless steel Microwave that I had for about 10 years before I donated it to a homeless shelter was Panasonic.. and still working very well.. I wanted to upgrade so naturally I looked at reviews for Panasonic.. they were all terrible.. So I didn't touch them and got a Sharp instead.
Keep looking, that's about 20 times more than it should be!just this morning I've been online trying to find a replacement light for my fairly new Whirlpool fridge...it's a small LED light that would fit in the palm of my hand...finally found it on Amazon....$59.00!!![]()
..ah but will you say that perhaps in 2 years when they've broken down... ?Just this morning I've been online trying to find a replacement light for my fairly new Whirlpool fridge...it's a small LED light that would fit in the palm of my hand...finally found it on Amazon....$59.00!!
Just to add...I have a new LG washer and Dryer that I've had about a year, and I love them, I think they're probably the best I've ever owned.
