You are so right. Horrible Horrible Horrible. All for money. Someone figured this out years ago I guess.it may be unethical but for the manufacturers and the sellers it's a profitable win-win situation...
They buy the materials cheaply, they make the items with the cheap materials.. they make them fancy looking so people are willing to pay higher prices.. then when they break down a short few years later.. what's available but more cheaply made items ..so the manufacturer and the seller.. get to reap the financial benefits several times over in period where in the past people would keep the same item for several decades..
I recently searched for the same thing.. well.. probably 6 months ago now.. but it was a minefield.. and some of these handheld Vacs' were costing almost as much as a full size Vac cleaner, and I wasn't prepared to pay that... so I took a chance on one , and it's been fantastic.. much stronger suction than I've had before with handhelds.. and not too expensive, it comes with a spare filter as well.. Not sure if you can get this make in the USA but if you can it's worth it's price...You are so right. Horrible Horrible Horrible. All for money. Someone figured this out years ago I guess.
On a side note, I wanted to get a rechargeable hand held vacuum I can use for the car and around the house. But reviews are all over the place and some have said you can't get replacement filters. Seems these, like everything, are not built to last 20 years.
It needs no battery just a charger which is included...Thank you @hollydolly That brand does appear available on U.S. Amazon. And this comes with the battery and charger?
I have a Black and Decker handheld vac with a charger and lithium battery. It works well. I've had it at least a year.I recently searched for the same thing.. well.. probably 6 months ago now.. but it was a minefield.. and some of these handheld Vacs' were costing almost as much as a full size Vac cleaner, and I wasn't prepared to pay that... so I took a chance on one , and it's been fantastic.. much stronger suction than I've had before with handhelds.. and not too expensive, it comes with a spare filter as well.. As an added warning.. be very careful now when buying battery driven items online. If you don't read the small print carefully.. you will find that with many things.. the battery nor the charger is included. Absolutely appalling given that a cordless battery controlled item like a Handheld garden instrument or Vac cleaner is not fit for purpose without these things.. and you have to purchase them separately , usually at a much inflated price...
the one I bought doesn't need a battery it's rechargeableI have a Black and Decker handheld vac with a charger and lithium battery. It works well. I've had it at least a year.
yes what I meant was mine didn't come with a separate battery,,Yes, its rechargeable. It recharges the internal battery.
He's right, Kenmore was a brute for quality. I had to bypass a couple areas on the dryer, but the washer was a cream puff. Only a pump ($20) and a dial ($70 ouch!) in 15 years of use.Altho' a few makes mentioned are not available in the UK.. and therefore don't apply.. the 2 most unreliable Manufacturers.. LG and Samsung.. are... handy Video for everyone..
