Are you a fan of Paul Reubens and Pee Wee Herman? Did you know he actually grew up in Upstate New York?
Paul Rubenfeld was born in in Peekskill, New York. This place is about a 3:30 - 4 hour road trip from Central New York. His early years were spent in Oneonta, New York dreaming of becoming a Hollywood actor. He shared a story on "Live With Kelly and Michael" how he wrote a letter to Walt Disney seeking an acting role/career.

After leaving Oneonta, his family hit the road to Sarasota, Florida, where he spent most of his childhood/teen years. Paul's parents, Judy and Milton Rubenfeld, owned a lamp store. His mother was a teacher. His father was an automobile salesperson who had flown for Britain's Royal Air Force and for the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II. "PeeWee's Big Adventure". I don't know how many times I watched that movie with our grand-daughter. We, even today (she's 21) can remember some of the lines from the movie.

It was sad that he evidently had that "other side" to him but he was still a funny guy in a goofy way. Once our grand-daughter got older the tape joined other discarded toys in the attic although we did pull it out and watch it a couple of years ago when she was 17-18. Still got us laughing agin at the foolishness.
 
I'll admit, the movie was funny. But as we've learned, these people are human also.

I'd long thought Jared was gay, sad to find he was into children.

Sorry to hear Reubens was brought up on child pornography charges. I didn’t care much about the movie theater arrest, but this kind of ruins my impression of him. Even though his movies were childish and made little sense, they were entertaining to a point.

That "other side" didn't exist. Someone started a rumor, people passed it on, and then the media exploited it. All he did was lay his jacket across his lap at a porn theater, which is pretty much the point of buying a ticket.

no child molestation! he was arrested for indecent exposure... inside an adult movie theater... quelle surprise! i suspect all the brouhaha came about because he was "famous".

he wasn't brought up on child pornography charges. now adult movie houses are not my thing, but seems what he was doing is what people pay to do in one of those places.
