Trying To Decide Which Item to Get from Amazon.

Drive myself nuts. I'm looking at jigsaw puzzle boards. Found the one I thought I wanted, but then checked the measurements. Too big for my small table and won't slide under either my coffee table (glass with a low bottom shelf) or another cabinet. I can't emphasize enough how I need to keep this away from my tabby when not in use. She notices and gets into everything.

I don't know if others are as indecisive as I am. I read reviews and they can be all over the place. This is the smaller board I found. This really is one of the only small boards I found. Most are too big.

Anyone else as indecisive as I am?

Last time I was at my masseuse's house for my appt., she was using a big piece of cardboard.
I've never even heard of using a board underneath the puzzles, so it was new to me.

She puts it away on top of her washing machine/dryer.

I was actually wondering if I could just make something myself. I don't know, cover a piece of metal or wood? But I'm not real handy and again, has to be completely put away from little miss tabby's paws.

Thank you for the link @Kika I'd prefer a lighter color so I'll look into that. But do you find it pretty easy to put away without the puzzle falling apart? At this point, I don't think I'd do larger than 500 pieces right now. This could be an alternative.

It may come in a lighter color, I think I recall seeing a yellow one. (You can tell I don't have my cats anymore, since I bought a black one)

The puzzle pieces do not fall apart when it's rolled up. There is an inflatable "roller" that is placed at one end to facilitate the rolling. Everything does stay in place.

@Remy Do you have removable window screens (flat ones, not expandable?)
When I was in my house, I would use the window screen during the winter, and slide it under the sofa. It was too low to the floor for the cat to get there.

That's good. I did see one review states it attracts cat hair! 🤣 But I'd have to work on puzzles when the cats are asleep. No way when they are awake. Luckily they do sleep.

I went to Walmart today and found this. It was only $7.00. I haven't opened it yet and it is black. But I got some grey felt at the craft store also and I might be able to put it over. I figured for the price it's worth a try. Thanks @Kika for the suggestion.

As you can see, Juniper is always very interested in anything new.

That is nice, but seems a little pricey. If I wanted it, I would put it in the Amazon Save for Later section and be notified when the price changes. Maybe after Christmas.
This is the one I use, because of space. Amazon.com: Lavievert Jigsaw Puzzle Storage Roll Mat with Unique Auxiliary Line Design for Up to 1,500 Pieces Puzzle, Puzzle Saver for Adults & Kids, Environmental Friendly Material : Toys & Games
I just read the reviews on this.. and it says it attracts cat hair like no-ones' business

I guess I am lucky, no cats, just the pups. I do puzzles on the dining room table. I don't use it for anything else. I eat at the kitchen table. I guess if I could have a cat I would just place a piece of cardboard over it.

Amazon is having a huge problem with false reviews. They are attempting to solve this problem but some of the reviews are paid for to be favorable and some are being paid to say bad things about products. Paid for by competing companies. It's been in the news a lot recently.

I get this catalog in the mail called "Bits and Pieces", full of crossword puzzles www.bitsandpieces.com 513-354-7909
Anyway, they have several "puzzle plateaus" to do puzzles on. If I did puzzles, I'd sure get their catalog.
Also, I was thinking. I would go to a lumber yard and get a piece of thin mahogany and cut it (or have it cut) to fit over the puzzle.
and, Can it slip under the bed?
Just a thought.

true..it's been going on for a long time. One of our consumer TV programmes delved into it and chose just a few items at Random with thousands of good reviews.. and were able to prove that all the reviews had been stolen from other genuinely good items for sale on Amazon .. and that the items when it was broken down.. had one or 2.. or in some cases NO good reviews.. and in fact they the sellers.. had hidden the bad reviews.. It was a Big eye opener..

That looks really nice to me.

Does it come with any sort of cover, or do you have to fashion one, mostly for your intrigued cat, and partly for dust?

Yes, I am as indecisive as you are!!!!o_Oo_Oo_O:LOL::ROFLMAO::giggle:

But, If you get it and don't like it, then you could send it to me.:love:

I still purchase things from Amazon but I will send it back if it doesn't fit or meet my standards.

You have never had a cat. The bolded sentence above proves it. Nothing stops a cat if it wants something.
I had both, usually 2 cats and one dog at a time.
