A day in the life of a Twitter employee

I've actually heard of similar. They probably had a safe space room.

I run my ass from the minute I get to work till I leave. The only break I take is my 30 for lunch.

I think this is wonderful to rejuvenate in order to reach one's full potential.
It's like drawing an arrow back on a bow before you shoot, to perform the greatest results.
Rest, prayer, meditation yoga; all are most beneficial for maximum action.

I know this thread as all the other Musk threads are written in disapproval of Elon Musk's
actions but I think this is a wise way to run a company. The employees will have greater
energy and clarity of mind to achieve unbounded results in their day to day activities.
He is providing surroundings to achieve clear, purposeful thinking.
It's a natural tendency of the mind to go to greater happiness. If the workplace is joyful,
there is no limit to what can be achieved.

@Gaer I agree it's best if the employees are taken care of but in the corporate realm, that's not the norm. It's profit. I'm not 100% sure what was going on with Twitter here, but this seemed a bit overboard.

When I went to an acupuncturist years ago and I was working 12 hour shifts, 3 days a wee, she said what I was doing was very unhealthy. She said in traditional Chinese life, people worked every day (I assume this is not what goes on in these factories but more rural life) but they also took time for meals, visiting, recreaction, special interests every day also. It was balanced.

Hi @Remy! Well, Musk said he "has little interest in material trappings of wealth".
I think his motivation is not profitability but taking mankind into a giant leap
of evolution.

Yes, We worked until we were ready to collapse and went home every night exhausted.
Get up tired and ran back to do it again and again. All for profit for the employer!
He is integrating a new way of doing business in a higher way; to utilize the employee's
thinking, reasoning, understanding, by giving them methods to enable full use of
their surroundings to maximize creative intelligence. This is looking at business from
a different perspective and may prove beneficial in the long term. He's doing a
180 degree in business technique.

Musk said he "has little interest in material trappings of wealth".
He may say that but he still flies in a private jet. He has the money; I wouldn’t expect him to get on a commercial flight.

He has 9 kids. I’m sure none of them live in one of his small homes. They‘re a good idea for the average person buying a home.

Even though he sold many of his mansions, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t rent or stay with friends or live in a place owned by one of his companies. With the money he has, he needs security.

I don't understand why people think that a less than two minute video about the cool perks at her new work location means she wasn't working hard enough, she did say that they had several projects they got done and that then she also did some work in the library (something like that).

I'm not sure what her job was but do we seriously think a company that has a lunch room is weird? She was so impressed by the food I suspect she's recently out of high school or college lunch cafeterias. I've worked at multiple work places that had lunch cafeterias.

I still fondly remember the yummy Thursday Garlic Chicken at the place I worked right out of college. And one place I worked had four (or maybe it was more, it was a long time ago now) different types of food bars in their cafeteria, I had a lot of fresh grilled reuben sandwiches at that company. Oh the good old days.
So, people, did you not have any perks where you worked?
