Garage Sale Price

No matter what you're selling and asking for it, most people will usually try to get you down on the price. Good for you, for sticking to your guns. If you were selling it at a flea market, people would expect you to "negotiate". Of course, that doesn't mean you have to.

We have an antique wooden butter churn....we gave perhaps $10 for it at a local auction a few years ago. "Collectables" are of little or no value to most people today.
But preppers today are looking for those things. I would expect to pay more than $10.
This is why I'd never have a garage sale. I hate haggling or should say I'm not good at it.
You are right. People don't want dust collectors. I know I don't.

We have great garage/estate sales around here. Lots of old people dying - whoops I'm old too!

I thought it was an antique, but I sent photos to a local antique dealer and he replied that he suspected it wasn't very old since it's condition was too good. He also added that he thought the dasher was a hand-made replacement of the original one. An original dasher would have a ceramic part that fitted into the top of the churn and mine is all wood. That's one person's input. Here is what the dasher looks like on the underside:

About 25 yrs ago I bought one similar to yours from Lehman's Hardware, but never used it. Finally sold it at yard sale a while back & it sold quick, but my I priced it to move. It was USA made pottery & glazed with a non-toxic finish. I have a hand crank from my Grandma & I need to get the glass jar for it.
