Those electric shopping carts can go far.

Two days ago, a man rolled into the safe park with a electric shopping cart. At first I thought it was from WinCo, but no, it's from Walmart!

That's 3 miles away! The lone occupant was trying to get someone to haul it to another "Safe stay place" but it had died. Had it a full charge, it may have made it.

He did show a "Receipt" he had from the person who sold it, but we all knew it was bogus. Our security called Walmart who are coming for it.

One person expressed shock they'd steal I said "The thief won't change, unless it wants to" considering the age of him, he's been stealing for decades.

What surprised me, was how easy it was, some shopping areas have "Restrictors" on carts, they should include them on the electric ones also.

Haven't heard of Grand Theft Scooter before, but I'm not surprised. And that he had proof of "legal" ownership, NOT.
AND, he thought you guys were stupid enough to believe him.

It's no wonder that prices go up to cover theft losses or stores just completely close down.

I can't walk very far. And you don't realize how huge some grocery stores are, never mind the big box stores. Without those electric carts, there's no way I could go up and down those aisles. I never found a cart that had a decent charge on it. Target is the worst. Their carts love to die when you're going through women's lingerie to get to men's. Lowe's comes in a close second. That's why I'm surprised a cart made it past the parking lot. BTW, it does irritate when young people use the carts as amusement park rides.

I won't mention who, but yes at the local WinCo they'll come in at night and then roll around doing little shopping but more goofing off.

Then leave them at the end of the parking lot, power on and walk away. Just ignorant turds.

I've seen that too in stores. One time a manager went off on what looked like an 8-yo kid for doing it. A few minutes later an elderly man showed up to claim the cart that the kid took from him. Kid was his relative.

Do shops there generally make you have to go through the women's Lingerie dept to get to the mens ?..

In our stores, most men's dept are separate from the womens'.. most often by a whole floor

Interesting. Big stores where I used to live had motorized carts, but they wouldn't let you take them out the door.
I have to say..that's a good point, I've never seen a supermarket electric cart go out of the door either. However I don't know what people do to get their shopping to the car if they have to use an Electric cart in store .. that's a point worth finding out...

Reminds me when I had hip surgery. I was entering Walmart with a walker, guy was wanting to roll out to his vehicle with electric cart to put groceries away.

The greeters were stopping him and he finally turned around, went to customer service, had every cent refunded and telling the manager off and left the store, with his walker.

All they had to do was ask "Are you returning it?" As he had to come back for his walker, it's kind of obvious. I used WinCo carts. Loaded my groceries and rolled back, then used my cane.

But got to admit, was pretty impressed with that cart.

Walmart is normally one level. Target is usually two stories as like Sears, but there are exceptions.

In the US, stores are rather large "big box" type stores. The departments are laid out to create the most sales. The first department is usually women's, and men's will usually be in the center, or toward the back.

At our stores in NY state, you can drive them right to your vehicle with your groceries. Then just leave it there and the store employee will bring them back in.
