I did. And Gene Autrey and Cisco Kid and Hopalong Cassidy. But I heard the Roy Rogers museum in Victorville is now permanently closed.

Did you know he was from Cincinnati and his first home was located in what was the Cincinnati Red's stadium, about where second base was? The stadium was closed and razed in about 2002, don't know what's there now.

I was stationed nearby for 3 months in 1968 at George Air Force Base. Drive through that area every few years if on the way to Joshua Tree NP.

Yes, a Federal Prison, just south from the George AFB property.

OMG!!!!! Talk about a childhood hero. What gets me is that I can't remember any of the names of my nephew's kids, but Pat Brady's jeep was named, "Nelliebell".
Of course, another childhood hero was "Sky King".

I met and shook hands with Roy Rogers and Gene Autry when I was five.
They were in Miles City for a parade (fourth of July) and Gene
got snockered at a local bar the night before. Roy was with him but
refused to drink. He said he had an "image" to keep.
Anyway, That was the story.

1. Lone Ranger & Tonto. The horse was Silver. Who can forget, "Hi Yo Silver Away!"
2. Cisco Kid - his pal was Puncho. I like the way it often ended with, "Oh Cisco, Oh Puncho."
3. Roger and Dale Evans singing "Happy Trials to you" at the end of the show. Pat Grady drove a jeep. The horse was called "Trigger." Don't remember Roy and Dale even sharing a kiss. No, "Hanky Panky" in those days. It was a family show.
