All of the planes that were on the ground had to stay put. I didn’t hear the details or specific as to what happened, but a lot of planes were grounded and flights were cancelled. I don’t know much else, but according to the commentator on CNBC, all of the planes across the board weren’t receiving the same information, so for some planes, it was like flying blind. Not a good situation.

I just heard "no evidence of cyber attack" coming from the White House. But I kind of take any first-response data with a LOT of grains of salt because first reports are always so sketchy. That's a huge issue to ground every plane! For the record, first thing I heard on 9-11 was "no reason to believe this is a terrorist attack."

Imagine who "profits " from something like this ? China, the Russians or the Iranians, all come to mind. Here in Toronto a week or so ago, the Hospital for Sick Children was the target for a ransom demand by a hacker group. The Hospital's phones, computer systems and patient record access was affected. The HSC IT team was able to correct the system damage in 3 days. The HSC did NOT pay any ransom demands, in this case. Ransomware is a way to take control of a computer network, and then demand payment, to release the system from the control of the thieves. It is a world wide criminal problem. JImB.

you always hear about the bug in the computer, which actually did happen. way back during the time of the first large computer a moth actually shorted out the computer.
