What was your very first record you bought and how old was you !!

Not absolutely sure but think it was Rock Around the Clock by Bill Haley and the Comets. Wait. Couldn't have been the first because it wasn't released until I was 15. Surely I bought something else before then? Maybe it was Sh-Boom. It was released the summer I was 13. That sounds about right.

The first album bought for me was Fabian's Hold That Tiger. I was ten. Can't remember first record I bought on my own.

I had an older sister and she bought singles, so I have a vast collection of 45's.
as i was the youngest of 5, i also had all the music from my siblings
i remember my eldest sister playing " Downtowm" by Petula Clark
and my eldest brother, playing his LP ...Bridge over troubled waters by simon and Garfunkel

I was 10 years old and I bought the Tommy Steele Story no 2 EP. Got it at Heathrow airport if I remember correctly. Mam and I were going to join dad in Kuwait and I knew he had bought a record player, something we'd never had in the UK, so I think I must have just bought the first record I saw. ;)

The first record I bought was an album, the New York Philharmonic performing Mozart's "Eine Kliene Nachtmusik".

The reason is because I used to listen to it with my grampa when I was a kid. After Gramps died, my gramma gave me his 78, but I had to buy the 33 1/3 because my stereo didn't play 78s. And also because you couldn't find a radio station that played a lot of Mozart, but it was no problem finding plenty of rock and R&B and stuff.

I was 17, I think.
