LOL! That's what we always called it.I've also been thinking of Italian Wedding, but it must be with escarole ('schka-roll) and the tiny meatballs made with ground chicken instead of beef.
Wow! You go girl.I never made steak soup. It looks yummy, but I wouldn't add a whole bottle of wine, I'd add some beef broth or stock in addition to the wine. I love soup and always have. My mother told me that when I was little, she'd ask me what I wanted for breakfast, and I'd say, "Soup!" Fortunately, my husband also loved soup. He was perfectly happy to have soup and salad for dinner at any time. He'd ask, "What's for dinner?" When I'd say soup, he never failed to respond, "Great!" or "Mmm, I can't wait!"
I always have some kind of homemade soup in my freezer. I have a lot of freezer space. It's great for nights when I don't feel like cooking. Right now, I have a few different kinds in the freezer. Corn Chowder made from fresh corn this summer, Mushroom Bisque, Butternut Squash, Unstuffed Cabbage Soup, and I made Navy Bean Soup and Cornbread to go with it three days ago, next up is Potato-Leek Soup. In the summer, I make minestrone and tomato soup from my fresh garden veggies. I also make my own chicken or beef stock and bone broth. I make and love all kinds of soup!
Lol, what can I say? I love to cook... and eat! Nobody's gonna make it for me!Wow! You go girl.

Here's some of mine draining... a few years ago. I don't remember why I took and saved this photo, LOL
Some of the store made soups aren't bad, David.I consume a lot of supermarket soups and envy those who can prepare soups from raw ingredients. My mother like many housewives of her generation was a well experienced cook with many cookbooks and utensils that often made soups. In fact for lunch today, mic'd a can of Progresso Vegetarian Vegetable with Barley soup. Always in cupboard have cans of Progresso Mushroom soup. My favorite, especially when in store prepared in their deli sections is Safeway's, Broccoli Cheddar Soup.
What else was in it, if you get a chance....I could live on soup. I love to make soup. I have a special chicken soup I used to make when anyone in my family was sick.....my former brother-in-law said it was almost worth getting sick to have my soup.
A few weeks ago I made a white bean and bacon soup with half a brick of cream cheese melted in it. Diet, it wasn't but boy was it good!
We call it "kitchen sink soup" because everything is in it except for the kitchen sink!"NO Leftovers" aka "Fridge Clean Out" Soup with real bone broth (bones boiled the day before). I read that bone broth is a good source of calcium.
I always buy "bone in" meat and freeze the bones and fresh vegetables past its prime.
I just threw stuff in it. Used canned navy beans, crumbled fried bacon, onion, some chicken Better than Bouillon, and about half a brick of cream cheese. Pepper, salt. You could probably put any other veggie you have in there. What else was in it, if you get a chance....
Thanks! The bacon calls to me.I just threw stuff in it. Used canned navy beans, crumbled fried bacon, onion, some chicken Better than Bouillon, and about half a brick of cream cheese. Pepper, salt. You could probably put any other veggie you have in there.
Sorry, I don't. I've not had a lot of experience with curry powders, altho' I did buy some recently for chicken salad.Does anyone have a good recipe for curried cauliflower soup? We used to buy one - it was our favorite soup, but it's no longer available.
Thank you. Perhaps we will just try a few recipes and hopefully find one we like.Sorry, I don't. I've not had a lot of experience with curry powders, altho' I did buy some recently for chicken salad.
