Question about frozen veggies

@Blessed, here is what a parsnip tastes like according to various websites:
starchy and slight spicy
sweet like carrots
bitter like turnips
has a toasted caramel-like flavor
licorice-like taste
earthy nuttiness
sweet with hints of cinnamon or nutmeg

I hope this clears it up for you! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

As we all said, it's kind of hard to describe! We did our best!

I am going to try them the only thing I am worried about is a turnip tast. I never liked turnips or turnip greens. Trust me I tried as a child, they were a big part of our garden. I bought one a few years ago. Out taste is always changing but I would rather have a helping of dog, cat food or dirt. It was horrible and I am a pretty good cook.

In the last ten years, since my husband passed, I have gone back and tried things that I thought I did not like. I found that aspargus, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts were best roasted with garlic and herbs. Now I am open to give almost anything a go. It is embarrassing to admit`that I know have to tell myself, how do you know if you don't like it without trying it. That is what I told my son growing up. Now he gets to say it to me, he is out in the world trying everything!! I guess that means I will have to try sushi at some point LOL

Frozen vegetables are cheaper, cleaner, riper, and "fresher" than anything you can grow or buy then or today.
Completely agree, at least for certain fruits and vegetables. My freezer is typically stocked with store-bought frozen mixed berries, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, corn, peas, diced red potatoes and mixed bell peppers. I also chop and freeze yellow onions; sliced, lightly sauteed mushrooms; sliced bell peppers if they're on a great sale, and Costco Power Greens (to toss into soups and stir fries).

I have bought frozen veggies in the past, but they always come out mushy after cooking.
ie: brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli

So, I tend to stick to fresh.
