Tom Selleck?

Gaer

"Angel whisperer"
If you look up Tom Selleck movies , ("High road to China " and "Quigley" are my favs) on U-Tube,
It says he passed away three months ago. Also John Travolta died and Jeff Bridges died. (on U-Tube)
The Internet says differently.
Why would they say things like that?

YouTube is full of lies Gaer, some things a true, usually
about how to make something, or how to operate a
machine, but the story ones are pure fiction, there is
one man who is supposed to be a policeman, but his
acting is so bad, that it is obvious a made up story.

Don't believe all you see on YouTube.

Mike.

Too many YouTube videos are clickbait. Many are easy to spot especially if you've been following the channel owner for a while. Regardless, some sources online have good information. Granted, I've seen some things even on my favourite website that aren't totally true. Just do loads of research, you'll eventually find something worthwhile.

When I see a YouTube video which proclaims someone famous has died, I visit my go-to site: Wikipedia.

Such as the Tom Selleck post I've just seen. Here's the link (alive and kicking, thankfully)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Selleck

"The internet connection via dial up back in the days, showed up for us round November 1994, Netscape browser was it and truthful or falsehood about what's found online always require further exploration..."

I've seen these, too... and it seems no one is safe from being reported dead. I've most recently seen them for Marie Osmond and Reba. To answer your question about why someone would do that... I'd have to say for the YouTube and AdSense money for the views and clicks. Sick individuals. From what I've seen, YT won't do a blasted thing about it either.

Gaer, if you liked Tom Selleck in "High Road to China" and are a reader try finding a copy of the book for a read.

Eve Tozer was the real deal and an actual person, as was the adventure. Hollywood and Selleck did it with a few embellishments. Overall it was o.k. Book, though, is so much better. Fills in a lot of areas the movie had to skip over.

Had the book in my classic adventures collection for years. Then, somehow, it slipped away.

And, back on thread, those announcements of "deaths" are disturbing to read.

I met Tom Selleck once. He was getting an award at the Cowboy and Western Museum in OK city for his portrayals of the American cowboy. We just happened to be visiting the museum. He posed for pictures. Nice looking man.

I'm afraid the lady who starred in "High Road to China" is just like me!
Thank you for the tip about the book! I don't often read fiction but it sounds so interesting!
