What hurts today?

Kate, it’s just the creams that feel warm when you apply them like Ben Gay. There’s many different brands. If you put them where you don’t have pain they actually sting.
Ah, okay... thank you. I thought it was a new miracle product for aches because it sounded really nice for when my toes ache. :) I haven't found much help with the Icy Hot, Ben Gay, etc. but BioFreeze seems to work somewhat for me.

Kate, sorry that it’s nothing new. When I have a lot of pain I take a really hot shower and then put it on while my body is still warm and that really helps.

You buy these at a health food store?
I've been buying them at the Vape Store where I get cigarettes for the past year or so, because the owner gives me a deal. He doesn't actually carry the stuff, he gets it just for me when he goes wherever he goes to get his merchandise.

My son keeps telling me to get it at Winco because it's cheap there, but Nuri (the Vape Store guy) gives it to me for the same price, and Winco's kind of hard to get to from here.

I doubt very much that I'd find them in a health food store. That industry has given NRG drinks a really bad rap, including 5hr.

Again, it contains vit B12, B6, Niacin, and Taurine. Our own bodies produce Taurine. It's an amino acid that helps control high blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol, aids bile acids and the development and function of skeletal muscle, stabilizes the membrane of nerve tissues, and it's an antioxidant.

The energy surge only lasts me about 4 hours, and I'm cool with that. But if I have something going on in the evening, I'll sometimes drink an additional half a bottle in the early afternoon, or sometimes I'll drink my one bottle later in the morning than usual.

My shoulders hurt and sometimes lock especially if I have lifted something (groceries) that are too heavy for me. This has been ongoing for the past year. I have a doctor appt on Friday to check it out. I do have Osteoarthritis and have pain meds for this but I am looking into alternative ways to deal with it. Most days are good.

Migraine headaches, neck, shoulders and upper arms every day. Confirmed by MRI pinched nerves at C5,6 and 7,8. going back on steriods, anti inflammatories and muscle relaxers. They are also setting up for PT/traction. I have taken all the medications before but hoping PT will help. If not, next step are injections at those neck locations. I just want it to stop. I can deal with pain of all kinds just not constant. There has got to be some relief at sometimes. Even if it was one pain pill a day at least I could keep the house clean as I like it. May come to the point I have to get a house keeper to come in and do the heavy stuff.

I buy these little one-shot bottles of an energy drink called 5-hour. They are mostly vitamins B12 and B6, niacin, Taurine, and a little bit of caffeine. You can get it with no caffeine, and they also have sugar-free, and they work just as well but I prefer the one with everything.

What 5hr does is give me the energy to do what I want and what I need to do despite my pain. And that's good because moving helps relieve pain, or prevents it from getting worse. Keeps your joints loose and lubricated.

I drink 1 every day. I drink another half-shot in the afternoon if I need to, but not after 2pm.
I preferred those 344 energy drink. People thought I was a bit nuts (coffee is 42 mg per 8 oz) but I was dumping it into a 60 oz container then filled with water.

So really diluted.

Dropping by this morning to see how ya'll are doing today. I like this thread and it's much easier to keep up this way.
@LadyEmeraude does your hip loosen up as the day goes on? I hope it's better soon!
@Lawrence00 I hope the tendon/muscle issue clears up fast for you
@Murrmurr I see Amazon has the 5-hour for about $2 a bottle but assuming your vape dude has a better price than that
@Blessed and @IrisSenior I hope you are both able to find some relief for the pain soon

Hi @ CallMeKate and thank you, hoping it is better soon also. :)
It does not loosen up very much through the day, but I do exercise
and keep in motion as I can. Have Osteoporosis/arthritis, in both hips
and one knee lots of wear and tear, need both replaced, but I am wanting
to hold off a while longer, I get Corti-Steroid injections just twice yearly
in my hips and gosh it sure helps, till it wears off of course, I am due for
my next injection in one more week ...

@CallMeKate ...when I was talking about what I take for the pain of the OA in my fingers et al.. I fgot to mention something that I use which may be of use to you.. and that's a Homeopathic topical cream by the name of Rhus Tox & Ruta , just remembered it when I reached for it tonight to apply to my hands..

Thank you, @hollydolly . I'd never heard of that before, so googled it to see where I might pick some up... happy to see that Amazon sells it. Ah wait... still looking at it and it's 30g which is... 1 ounce? Okay, that's a mighty little tube for $13.50... I'll look to see if someone else sells it. In any case, it sounds great!

My biceps are hurting especially when I raise my hands above my head. I am wondering if there is a massage or exercise that can help them? Sinuses and ears are at pain level 5....as usual.
There are some deep tissue massagers that do wonders for some issues, but it is absolutely something a doctor would have to approve because I'm thinking for some issues it would be harmful. Ours is Dr. J brand and was about $36 but it's no longer available on Amazon and I have no idea how other brands would do... the one we have was always good for aching legs and shoulders in particular.

My lower back hurts so much I'm actually crying.
you know I have serious back issues My friend.. ((gentle hugs))).. and crying is not going to help because it causes your muscles to retract and causes more pain.... so stop crying... What's the cause of your back issues, see if we can recommend something for you.. ((hugs))
