So how is the winter going for you?

We are having a La Niña winter. Cool but not cold and very little snow. My kind of winter. I stood out in too many winters investigating accidents and changing tires.

We had snow flakes in the weather forecast today, but only have had cold rain with a short spell of 'wintry mix' in the middle of the day. Looks like it will be more than a week until the lows go below freezing.

A bunch of robins showed up a few days ago. Not sure if this is early for them here (to me January seems very early for them).

We have had a very mild winter in Dallas. When we left for Miami for Christmas in late December it was 11 degrees. We had a few days of freezing temps... enough to kill the leaves on a lot of our shrubs. Aside from that, we've been mostly in the 50's, 60's and 70's. We've had a mild winter. No complaints. Just wondering what our summer will be like.

We are just beginning to get bad weather. The roads were slippery today and I had an appointment with my dog at the Vet to get her ears cleaned. I cancelled because I feared getting in an accident with her in the car. I rescheduled. We will get snow tomorrow and I have another appointment for myself at the clinic. I'm going to drive slow.

It hasn't been too awful so far, but we've had ice storms and sNOw as late as April here. It might be too soon to say it's been an okay winter. We did have a terrible week or so of bitter cold temps the week leading up to Christmas; since then it's been up and down warm/cold, rain/sunshine.

There are daffodils blooming in both our front and back yards. Maybe that's a good sign. I believe it's @CinnamonSugar who reported that the Japanese magnolias are blooming where she is (we call those tulip trees here), a couple of hundred miles south of us.

I haven't yet read this thread, but just glanced here, and I must say,
@hollydolly That ice-and-lagoon photo is particularly ghastly, ghostly, and impressive!:oops::cautious::unsure::oops:

Perfect backdrop for a great story!:geek:
