"I'll put this right here, so I'll never forget where it is". Famous last words.

What have you put away "right here"- so you'll always remember where to find it? I got some nice steel flag brackets to replace the plastic ones when they wear out. Well, they wore out. And, of course I can't find the steel ones. I remember thinking I 'll put them 'right' here, so I'll never forget them, Damn I can't remember where "right here" was. Are you still looking for stuff that's "right here"?

well funny you should ask because about 2 weeks ago I bought some Guy poles.. so that I can tie some tarp to them at the Barn.. so where would I put them so I remembered where they were ?.. why, in the Barn of course... errrm.. Nope... can't find them anywhere

I have a couple of drawers in my kitchen that I use for stuff that I may need to find later.
One is the main 'junk' drawer, and then I have the 2nd 'junk' drawer, for my old phone, stamps, my dad's meatloaf recipe, keys, change, etc.

Then, there's the table outside for everything I need to garden. So I don't have to go looking all over here and there for things.
ie: potting soil, drill, electric pruner, pots, hand shovels......

Or you look for something...and look...and look...and there it is, right in front of you all along....

Where's that hairspray? I just had it this morning.....where is it? Sitting right there on the vanity, where I sat it down this morning, right where I've been looking. How could I have missed it???

My theory: in my mind, I'm convinced it's a RED can so my mind doesn't recognize the BLUE can that it actually is. That's my *scientific* theory. My real theory is that those pesky little bathroom trolls have it in for me and keep moving my stuff around. They're in cahoots with the kitchen trolls, the bedroom trolls, the garage trolls and, especially that little @*&#!%# troll who hides the TV remote.

Hmmmmph...

"Michael has gone for a walk," is an expression that you will commonly here in my home. In the UK a cane is known as a walking stick, but I use the term cane, that's why my walking stick is known as Michael...................................Michael Caine! And Michael has a habit of taking himself off for a walk.

Oh gosh, yes certainly!
If you've moved to a different home, anytime in the somewhat recent past,
(that might be within 1 or 5 or 10 years, or so ... )

Then that's a useful factor to hold responsible, for that difficulty.
Well, I moved, and I haven't seen it since then.:geek:

If it is anything of importance, highly unlikely. But yeah, regularly lose track of trivial small items, especially things in my pocket like eyeglasses, unimportant keys, pocket knife, tiny flashlights, comb, USB memories, trivial paperwork, tiny nuts, screws. Worse are a few items I purposely have hidden in my residence like USB memory back-ups that after months to years forgot about.

Quite some time ago, I received some old songbooks that my grandma played on her piano. Totally lost track of where I put them. So the other day, I was cleaning off the coffee table, the type the top raises up and has small storage space inside, and for some reason I raised up the top and there the music books were. So I left them there so next time I’m looking for them…I won’t remember.

I seem to have a knack for losing power supplies that I put in places where they wouldn't get lost. :cautious:
