February is one of my.........won't say favorite due to so much wind, cold, ice and snow, but two of my most loved people were born this month. My son was a Valentine Baby in 1970. My brother was born on the 17th in 1950. So I have always looked forward to it because of their birthdays.

I said that this morning after my British friend reminded me of it yesterday. She says it’s only done in months with an ‘r’ in them. Lots of variations of this theme.

the magical phrase originates in Britain and North America, and its variants include “rabbit rabbit,” “rabbit, rabbit, rabbit,” “rabbits” or “white rabbits” and must be uttered upon waking on the first day of the month in order to ensure good luck for the rest of the month.

Yesterday I walked up the greeting card aisle and sighed because I thought I should get my Mom a birthday card and Valentine Day card. I used to every year. She was born on February 13. She's gone though for nearly 20 years

Tomorrow, February 2, is the halfway point between winter solstice and spring equinox, Imbolc, Candlemas, Brigantia, Groundhog's day or whatever you want call it.

And today, February 1 is the first day of Spring on the Celtic or Irish calendar. I really like that idea, now if the weather would just cooperate!
