How do you eat pears?

Peel and slice.
Apples and pears have systemic insecticides that reside in the skin, that cannot be removed by simple washing. These are "organic" fruits too.
Yes, and fungicides, too, unless that's changed recently....and I highly doubt it.
The USA probably has the most toxic produce in the world, and more for aesthetics than bugs. In fact, any bug or worm you might swallow with your bite off an apple is completely harmless. The 6 or more different chemicals, not so much.

Ha ha. I eat a pear like a gourmet. I half it, core it, stuff it with cottage cheese and top it with a cherry. If it's a dessert pear, I stick a chocolate covered macadamia nut in the hollowed core, put it in the oven til the chocolate goes melty. Love my pears. :giggle:

I scrub it first, as I do with all fruit, then cut it in half. I eat half myself and give the rest to my guinea pigs.(Anyone who has guinea pigs will know that you cannot eat a piece of fruit without sharing it with them).
