Using cash?

I always use cash in smaller stores. But in Wal Mart, and major grocery stores, it's always check.

I'm guessing @Paladin1950 is in the USA. When I lived there (in two different places), I was very surprised at how often checks were used. Even in grocery stores, and even for smallish amounts.

In Canada (and other countries that I've been to), checks are not common. It's literally been years since I wrote one.

Use of a credit card for everything is the way we pay. As for spying on what we buy I'll leave that up to the Chinese. I admit I've been tempted to order a pack of 144 condoms just to see what happens.

I very seldom use cash…..usually for my hairdresser and my dog groomer.
I use MC for everything else, to earn rewards.
I do keep a small amount of cash in my wallet, for coffee, small purchases.

I've had a single dollar bill in my wallet for over a year. That's how much I use cash.
