What are you doing today 2023

Decided to go for a walk round the grounds of Castle Fraser, but found that they were running special tours featuring rooms and artefacts not part of the usual tours. Some very interesting things like the 'priest hole' with an escape route through the kitchen chimney. There was a special door built in to the chimney that diverted the flue to allow the priest to escape
Why would a priest need to escape from a castle? Dare I even ask?

I may or may not have suggested that she live one day with Sir's pain, then tell us again about hers.
What is Sir's pain about? Is that why you often offer to work one of your scheduled days off because otherwise he has to work two in a row?

@StarSong He's an insulin-dependent diabetic to start with, has arthritis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, what might be spinal stenosis, CKD, the list goes on. I can't remember what all else...something to do with his heart.

The working two days in a row thing is two days alone in a row. Working alone is very, very hard so working two days alone when unwell? He does it without complaint.

Pain from arthritis is bad enough without adding stomach pain from the liver problem and pain from the spinal problem. With him, it's an almost daily thing, but he never complains.

He goes to physical therapy and insists it's gonna kill him before anything else will! Says his therapist hates him 😂

Wow - that's a full plate of physical issues. Any one of them would take a lot of folks out of the working world.

You're a good friend and kindly workmate to take all of this into consideration when seeing the schedule. ❤️

@StarSong I'd walk on hot coals for him. Best. Boss. Ever. Pleasant. Even-tempered. Patient. Empathetic. Fair. And he wouldn't ask anybody to do anything that he wouldn't do himself.

@hollydolly Yup. $2/hr. It's nothing personal, though; it's a raise for all employees so that we all make at least $14.50/hr. It's a real boon for people in departments where the starting pay is as little as $9/hr.

The union rep did the union a real disservice by starting with "a few weeks ago, the union was approached by Kroger..." IOW, Kroger was getting nervous about not being able to keep people because of the wages. Doubtful that the union would have said a word until the contract is up for renewal again (I think that's in May 2024).

AFAIK, the next raise in the contract is the first of July for another 50cents/hr.

Minimum wage here is just £10.42 PH

I'll take my SUV to be serviced at Subaru for a 12,000 mile check up, oil change, NY state inspection, and wash.

Is that taking your SUV to Subaru, or taking your Subaru to SUV ?:unsure::unsure::rolleyes::sneaky:
(Which might mean.... Snooping Underneath Vehicles...?:geek::LOL: :giggle::ROFLMAO:)
Just as I stated,. There's a very special worker there, about 35, who takes care of me. I would go for a 3,000 mile check-up just to see his smile when I come in! My vehicle passed with flying colors!

Yesterday I said I would defrost my little kitchen freezer but today my body said no no, so I settled down to watch a movie
called Crazy Rich Asians and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Different and with a little lesson or two.
Marvellous production...clothes, buildings, and the rich way of life.

I looked it up and none of them have been on my radar. It may be that them, as a group, make the whole thing come together. I will certainly look for them now. I really like Iantha Richardson,(Faith) she plays the character so well, strong, smart, determined, she will not let anything hold her back. She has the courage to stand up and be counted for her ability to the job in spite of her situation. She puts Will's character on notice she sees the big picture, he is not hiding anything from her. I may sound a little vague here but I do so on purpose. I have seen the season and you are still watching so I don't want to be a spoiler to you. Keep watching!!
I finished all the episodes that are up. The next one is supposed to air on Feb 14th which means it will be available on Hulu on the 15th. I sure hope this is at least a 10 episode season. but Wiki is still only showing 6. I like the way the relationship between Faith and Will is evolving. I think she's coming to respect him and feel for what he's been through, thus getting a better understanding of why he is like he is. They are opening up to each other for sure. I do like that she keeps him in check. :) Another thing I love about this show is that the F bomb is not being dropped...at all. Most new shows now, it seems the writers feel they have to use the word in every scene, some literally in every other sentence. I really, really hate that. In fact, there's barely any cursing at all. I sincerely hope they keep it that way. I read that 100% of critics gave the show a favorable review, so hopefully we'll see a second season.

I can relate to how Will feels about being dyslexic because my husband battled dyslexia. He always just considered himself "a dummy" when it came to reading..he'd say "I can't read". He could, but just slowly and he could read the words in a meme where the letters of each word are jumbled, faster than he ever read anything else. That and his reversing the order of numbers when he had to read them off to me was telling and I informed him that he was dyslexic, certainly not stupid. People from all walks would come to my husband for advice, even attorneys.

I was determined that today wouldn't be like yesterday when all I did was eat, feed Deja, sleep and watch T.V. Today was a busy, productive one although my timing for getting things done was way off. After my shower, I went down to the laundry room about 3:30 a.m...meant to be down there by 2. By the time the sun was up, I had figured out how to make more room for my son's clothes by giving up my hassock storage and started on that which meant finding new locations for the clothes I had in there. Then I got engrossed in a T.V. program and fell asleep unbeknownst to myself.:LOL:

When I woke up, it was almost 3 p.m. and I was determined to take the walk I had planned to do no later than 11 a.m. I wound up starting my walk at 4. When my son got home, he asked if I wanted to put in some studio time. I couldn't refuse because it's been at least a week and we need to put the time in. At 6 p.m. I started drying the clothes that I'd planned to start no later than noon. I put away the clothes that went on hangers. I'll do the rest this weekend.

I put in about an hour and a half in the studio. My son put in more time because he had more to do on the song. I decided it will be best for me to play part of the vibraphone track over, since nothing has worked while trying to fix the glitch (my inaccuracy while playing). So that I can play that part directly into his digital music production program using a midi keyboard, here he is taking the vibraphone sample from the Clavinova after which he added it to his digital instrument library.

After I get off SF, it's dessert (ice cream) and more T.V. @Pecos

It's time once again. Yawn.

Today's good news is that New Lady doesn't work weekends. Because, yanno, it might interfere with her catering business. Today it's Retired Lady, Sir and me.

I haven't seen the forecast yet. It's either better or worse than expected yesterday.

Off to do my early-morning chores and suit up for the croissant wars. BBL

I think a truck hit me yesterday. Guess not, sure it would be much worse. I'm having difficulty dealing with all these surgeries & 'procedures' chipping away at my life. Sorry, not a happy camper, it's been rough. Today my grandson & son coming to help. Yesterday, my son was so wonderful helping me, wanting to do more, while I just wanted to be alone and miserable. I'm ashamed at my own weakness & unwillingness.

Thank you all, you're all always here.....

I am doing the same thing but I just don't have the mental or physical energy right now. I should have started PT a few weeks ago. To take on nonstop appointments, I just can't do it. Anxiety is running high right now, I don't want to deal new people and their demands. They keep calling and I keep not answering. At least I am taking the new meds they gave me. That will have to do for now.

I know you are scared of the surgery but it sounds like something you can't put off. Sometimes we have a choice but if there is not one, best to get it done asap. Know you will have many prayers for an easy procedure and quick recovery!!
