The local Heron on the WOL.

This is one of a few I've taken... this Heron was perched atop a tree about 30 feet high, and I got this shot from the opposite bank of the Grand Union Canal..

I don't think that any of them, that I have seen in North or South of USA, have as much blue-grey coloring, as both of your photos do, but that is from my memory.

We have lots of white ones, here in the North. I did see a huge blue heron type, in Florida!

Thank you Kaila...we have white herons, they're called Egrets and they're much smaller than the native Blue/grey Heron..

Those blue-grey ones are huge! I remember being shocked at that time. :oops::rolleyes::giggle:☺️
