What have you bought recently?

Seven - yes 7 - boxes of chocolates. Walmart had 50% of all the candy this afternoon. $3 a box. I tucked them away in a cool spot. Also a big box of ‘fancy’ chocolates which worked out to the same price. DH will eat anything, so giving him two chocolates makes an easy dessert. I only eat the ones I really like. It does take a long time to eat a box. I might gift some to a friend who has a sweet tooth.

Well crap, I knew I should have gone out today!!

A very exciting find. For over two years I’ve been watching at the thrift stores for the plain white Corelle dishes for DIL. In that time I’ve only found two b&b plates. Found a like-new, medium large serving bowl for $2, less 25% for seniors. Grand total of $1.61, with tax. I’m keeping it for myself, since I don’t have one.
I have full set of white Corelle dishes, that will be given away closer to the time of moving.
I’m keeping a set of Corelle, that are white with black abstract pattern on them.
Too bad you weren’t closer.

You'll be glad you made the purchase.
They're good to have around.

Be sure and keep stocked up on batteries too.
I keep mine in the fridge.
A long time ago back I read an article similar to this and stopped storing batteries in the refrigerator.

"Practically speaking, however, there’s next to no reason to put your batteries in the fridge. Whatever gains you might get in shelf-life using the technique would be offset by potential problems. Micro condensation on and inside the battery can damage it and cause corrosion. Extremely low temperatures (such as a very chilly portion of the fridge or placing them in a freezer as some people erroneously advise) can further damage the batteries. Even if you don’t outright damage the battery, you have to wait for the battery to warm up to use it and keep it from gathering condensation if the room is humid."

Missed it, I wonder if all walmarts in BC had the same sale. So sad, I'm out of chocolate.

I remember reading something like that too...but I still do it.
I just roll 'em around in my hands to warm them up first.

I‘m just guessing but I think the trick to catching a post holiday sale (Valentine’s, Halloween, etc) is to shop the afternoon after the event. I just happened in at 1 PM and the candy was flying off the shelves. The ones I bought weren’t clearly marked so there were lots.

I ordered a handbag from LK Bennett. I mentioned before that I have a passion for handbags. I've decided to sell some of my handbags that I wasn't crazy about and have used the proceeds to buy this new one.
Sista..you and I as you know, have the similar passion for handbags. 🥰 .. Last years I donated a whole big sack of my bags, some unused.. and I bought over the last year, some beautiful ( expensive to me ) leather bags. One is super soft Lambs leather in Tan , and it's been a big disappointment to me, anything that touches it stains it. rain anything.. It's got so marked after only a few months usage I've had to put it away.. and not use it..

I've still got 2 nice tan pure leather bags I use, plus 2 nice striped.. but the Lambs leather was very expensive so it's a pity about that

A Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Cake. Out of the strangest place where I'd never expected such a delicious cake for such a low price, none other than B&M local. Enjoying a piece for dessert right now. Of course, with a cold glass of Cow juice. Cheers!

I still didn't spend any $$, but I didn't leave The Hovel today, either. Meh. I moved it to savings for the April 15 IRS hit. Oh. This year it's April 17 because the 15th is on a Saturday. I get to keep my $$ for two extra days.

that's gonna be lucky for ya GeeGee.. April 17th is my birthday 🤗
Sending my money to the IRS is lucky how? LOL

My older brother's birthday was April 17. I was always jealous of that because if it wasn't spring yet, it was close and he got to ride his bike (I didn't have one).

I love lambs leather but realized it's too fragile in terms of wear. Sorry you had to retire yours but I understand why. I have said it before but it bears repeating. I so wish we lived closer. I would have been happy to have listed and sold the bags for you that you donated.

Yesterday I received my newly ordered flip phone. Why? I hate talking on the phone - bad hearing, fast talking CS or mumbling makes it a PITA. Had a smart phone that was smarter than I, one that was seldom powered on. Have a laptop with Linux OS, Kindle that only allowed me to start with a Prime account, which I'm cancelling in May.

Only use talk, little used text or emergencies. Black tape on the cameras for privacy. Both phone & Kindle have wifi connections, only use the laptop browser. Decided to help my daughter out & pay for her wireless, she gets my smartphone, good bye to the Kindle. Divesting myself of my collection of tech equipment before I pass, be it 20 days or 20 years.

this is a technical world now.. if you live 20 years you're gonna need that stuff long before then.. everything is moving fast, and those of us who use tech a lot are having to keep up the fast pace .. so the last thing you want to be is is unable to live without Tech in this day and age..unless of course your daughter who is using your Tech is living near you..

I have been around & involved in tech since the early 60's started with 1st generation punch cards to today It's called burnout. My career was also in tech for more than 50 years so your observation is unneeded. I think I'm at the end of my love for it. Dealing with the interaction with non-techs & newbies has taken it's toll on me. Patience is not my strong suit.

Thanks, I will try and remember that, I usually get my chocolate from the $ store, it is one product that flies off the shelves.

We just bought tickets to see Duran Duran in June. They usually tour with Nile Rodgers and Chic. This will be the third time we've seen them, but we grew up with all their songs and they never disappoint in concert.

Could you have the cobbler dye it a dark colour that might not show the spots.
