Give me cabbages to make a lovely coleslaw any day, especially with Fishy Fridays.
Growing up we were forced to eat "Cabbage rolls" which I dislike with a passion to this day. Nope, it isn't the cabbage leaves but the wet rice, yuck!
I prefer a kind of boiled stew which was a favourite of my Dad's. Beef cubes, pork belly pieces, onions, turnip, potatoes, carrots and cabbage quarters. A winter meal which was filling, warming...the best comfort food on a cold winter's night.
