The Wealthiest Woman on Planet Earth

(I don't think money makes you happy.)
I know some people who were very rich, but had committed suicide for exactly this reason. At one day in their life they felt the truth. But most of the billionaires stay blind until the end of their life, however it will be.
At the end of his life Aristotle Onassis said "A rich man is only a poor man with a lot of money"

I wonder if she is happy.
or,
At the end of her life, will she look back and
wonder if it was all worth it?
(I don't think money makes you happy.)
I think you're correct in that Massive amounts of money don't make you happy.. whereas no money makes most people sad.. enough money for anyone's needs is all that's required for a happy life IMO

Our world has become so greedy. Everything boils down to how much money you have. How many houses, yacht's, cars, clothes, etc. will it take to make someone happy? I doubt she's happy and I doubt very much her children are happy. Rich people are always looking for more "things" to own because they think that's the way to be happy. BTW...I stopped using L'oreal products years ago when I found out they were tested on animals.

Well. Shrouds don't have pockets. We could all do with a bit more money I suppose, just to ease our lives.
I have enough and I budget carefully. I honestly wouldn't know what to do with a lot of money. I think it would be a burden.

What makes me happy? Like Holly said, enough money makes life comfortable, but what makes me happy? Having good friends who invite us to their home to share a meal. An insistent cat who wants to get on my lap for a cuddle. A beautiful wife who still leaves "I love you," messages for me to find, and that's after 55 years of marriage, and the five years of courtship. How I love a snuggle on the sofa with her. An unexpected phone call, just for a chat. A random act of kindness from a stranger. Acknowledgement from another driver when allowing them first move.
Am I easily pleased? Well the lady often calls me a grumpy old man when I moan about declining standards. But to be honest about money, our income is more than enough to live on, so it's easy to be dismissive about it.

I read an article a while back written by a journalist who worked as a chauffeur for the ultrarich at their big yearly conference in Davos, Switzerland. He found out, as I did as a lower-level office worker, that in a service industry job like that that after a short time and your employers have gotten used to your face, you become part of the "furniture" and they forget you're there and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff you overhear. Anyway, he said that the people he drove for, while considering themselves part of the 1 percent, didn't seem happy at all; he overheard stuff about how they wanted to be part of the 1 percent of the 1 percent and seemed to be constantly longing for that.

HELL I don't want to be rich because many rich people have no power but powerful people have no need for money.

BTW: I have zero wealth and even less power but 3 hots and a cot does me just as well. Enjoy your weekend all.
