I think this explanation is almost good enough, although I'm not sure crazy is the right word. I would call it emotionally disturbed. And our leadership is being drawn more and more from a pool of the emotionally disturbed. Homicides would logically increase in proportion to the depth of hatred we have for each other. I don't think most Americans like this, but it works in favor of the politicians who fan the flames. Hatred and resentment are an emotional sickness that can be taught and therefore learned. So are bigotry and intolerance. It was worse way in the past, but it is now the worst that I have seen in my life time.
