Do you drive an "old person's car".?

When I was in my teens and 20s, it was important to have a "cool' car. No, I couldn;t afford a T bird, I bought $300 'specials', but get caught driving a Pontiac????? Yet, recently, I did drive a 13 year old Hyundai Elantra. I'm sure if I were a teenager, I'd call that an "old person's car". Do you drive an "old person's car".?

I hope so. Comfort and dependability are more important to me than performance though acceleration, handling and braking are also about safety which also matter.

I am so tired of my old 2006 Suburu. It burns oil (spotting my paver driveway!), gets lousy mileage and is not dependable. I’m planning to get a Toyota hybrid RAV4 ASAP. I need a new dog toting vehicle.

After I took lessons and passed my tests, I bought myself a Pontiac Acadian. Then hubby had a Ford Sport something (can't remember now), my favourite was Ford Mustang out of that lot.

These days it's the Nissan's line. If I had the cash to buy a secondhand one it would be the Nissan's Bluebird Hatchback. Loved the one I had back pre-2000s. It was a joy to drive. I miss it. Haven't had a car since 2011, bummer!

I always had a station wagon (easier with 3 teens with sports equipment plus they didn't want to be seen driving a family station wagon.) I am still "in love" with station wagons (currently a Rav4) - much easier to load/unload the groceries and Flash (dog) loves car rides (much safer in the back in case of accidents.)

I dunno - do I?

I have many vehicles, and most of them need some attention. Our two main drivers are a 05 Ford Explorer, and a 04 Crown Victoria with all of the police upgrades. While the Crown Vic may look like an old persons car, it handles like a sports car and has pretty good power. I am considering getting a 2010-15 5.0 Mustang, or a nice C5 Corvette which would a bit of heresy considering I'm basically a Ford guy. The Corvette's are a great preforming car for the money, and I just might try one until I finish my 66 Mustang GT350 clone.

How 'bout a '23 Mustang in Atlas Blue Metallic or Race Red? :giggle: I've seen pictures of those and my goodness, they sure are "purdy!" I might look for one... 10 years from now when I could afford a '23. :ROFLMAO: @Geezer Garage

I drive a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Premium, had it a year, love it as it goes up country roads, gets you out of mud, and great gas mileage!
I had a 2017, but sold it to my girlfriend with 35, 000 miles on it. I take very good care of my vehicles.

Is it an old person's car....I dunno, but an old person owns it.

I could afford one but it is just not in my makeup to get bent over the way you do on a new car purchase. The minute you drive it off the lot you loose thousands of dollars, plus the higher taxes, registration and insurance. I like the metallic blue though.

My daughter has a Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid.. she bought it brand new last Christmas... she loves it...

When thinking of an "old person's car" I think of my grandparents and their 60s Oldsmobile Delta 88. Delta 88s were all I remember them driving. The one I recall best looked like this:

I always wanted a "real car" like this. When I moved to a place with mild winters (where cars lasted longer), I bought a 1980 Olds Regency 98. It was 30 years old at the time.

I loved it, but it needed an owner who knew how to fix it. Eventually I sold it to a collector for a nominal sum.

@Geezer Garage , I had a 1994 Crown Vic, a white one. Scared my friends with it. Nice ride, but by that time, "big" cars were no longer big enough! I also had 2 Buicks. Yes, I love big cars.
