I sure feel sorry for the unsuspecting customers who used this product thinking their vision issues would be helped! I copied and pasted this because it's a USA today subscriber's only article:
"Global Pharma Healthcare is expanding the recall of eyedrops linked to a case of blindness and one death to include its eye ointment cream after recommendation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Global Pharma Healthcare issued a recall of a batch of its artificial eye ointment cream, distributed under the brand name Delsam Pharma, due to potential microbial contamination, the FDA announced.

Using the product could cause an eye infection that could lead to permanent blindness, according to the FDA recall.
The company said it had not received any reports so far of adverse reactions to the product.

But its recalled EzriCare Artificial Eye Drops were linked to a deadly multistate outbreak of a drug-resistant strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria under investigation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

That outbreak of the rare strain has spanned twelve states, and swept up at least 55 patients, some of whom were believed to have used the recalled drops, according to an FDA announcement.

One person was hospitalized, one became permanently blind and another died after the infection reached their bloodstream.

All lots of the eyedrops were recalled. "

When I read about the first batch, I became concerned because I use eyedrops that don’t have a preservative. I sure hope none of the ones I use are part of the same group. Quite often, one recall leads to another.
I sure hope not too Jules! @Becky1951 Hopefully the change in your eyesight is not related to the product. I say that to mean hopefully its use has not caused damage to your eyes. Perhaps a visit to an ophthalmologist is in order.

That's scary. Especially with your eye issues @OneEyedDiva

Since I lost partial sight in one eye last year, it's a worry. I can kind of understand how you feel and this is scary. I don't use any drops at this time.
I'm so sorry you lost part of your sight Remy! That must've been frightening and frustrating. My eyedrops are by prescription and recommendations from my opthalmologist and optometrist. I've use Systane Ultra for years. What's scary is that at any time, products we use and foods we eat can become contaminated somehow. I'm partially blind in both eyes but the human body is amazing. With both eyes open, I don't notice it, even though both blind spots are in the lower part of my eyes. I see quite well with or without my glasses. Here's a visual field illustration that's very similar to my visual field results except on mine where you see gray, the areas on mine are black.

So sorry Diva and Remy!

I had a chronic problem last year of dryness and inflamation in my left eye to the point of having to go to bed at about six every evening because I couldn't keep it open any longer.

So I went to the opthamologist who prescribed drops four times a day, hot compresses three times a day, huge omega 3 pills and something else I can't remember. It seemed like such a hassle and it did no good at all so after a few months I stopped.

Then in the fall, I got the flu and pinkeye along with it. The nurse practitioner at Urgent Care gave me an ointment for the pinkeye that cleared that up in one day plus the whole dry, sore eye thing. It's been fine ever since.

How terribly distressing for you, I really sympathise. I had similar experiences last year after covid. I got red eyes and was really worried. I got better but still get such dry eyes at night. It is such a worry because nothing is more precious than your eyes.
