I have a Shark. I don't particularly like it. It's a bit heavy. Not easy to maneuver and it tips over when I use the hose for edges etc. Also I find the hoses hard to unlatch and the cup empty compartment hard to unlatch. I don't know which one I have, probably not their highest end. It's orange. It pulls up debris and I can't justify getting rid of it if it works, I just don't like it.

What vacuum do you have? Pros and cons for it?
 

Shark Navigator. I was a cleaning fairy in a former life, and of the various and sundry brands of vacs that my clients had, this was the best one. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver. Something I especially like about it is that when vacuuming bare floors, it doesn't spit debris out the other end.

I find it easy to empty, the filters easy to clean, and like the on-board attachments.

You probably have the older Shark. They were heavy.
I have 2 of the newer Sharks which are much lighter. I also have an older Shark that is heavy. I keep it downstairs.
The newer ones really do have no hair wrap around the brush roll.
 
Ooooo! I forgot about the no-hair wrap around the brush roll. That is definitely a plus!

ETA: My Shark also swivels...you want that feature.

My daughter has a new style shark she loves it... she keeps telling me every time there's a deal on so I'll buy one.. but I don't like it. I simply don't like upright vacuum cleaners.. and altho' the one she has is supposed to pick up hair ( she has 3 dogs).. I don't think it does as good a job as my Miele Cylinder ( cat and dog)... Mine has a 5 speed settings with a top power suction of 1800 watts. I've had it probably 8 or 9 years maybe more.. and it's as good today as when it was new

I have a Hoover (with bags) which I started to replace with a lighter weight, smaller vacuum but saw the prices of the newer ones and decided to keep it. Like yours, it still works fine and there may be times it's needed although I did buy a hand vac recently. Also, things are not made as well as they used to be so that was a consideration as well. It's cumbersome and the cord is a little too long. I had a rug when I bought it but no longer have one.
 
I have a dyson animal vac, love it. I've had it for about 6 or 7 years and have only had to buy one new battery. I was given a new shark but I find it too heavy and have trouble changing the attachments. I love that it comes with so many attachments but it does not seem to run as long as the dyson.
 
Bissell 'Robo Vac' here. Not sure that's the real name, but it's what we tagged it. Comes out of its docking station early afternoon and roams about the carpet for whatever time Sharon has it set for. Two hours I think. Then returns and re-docks itself.

Kinda getting used to having it bumble about. Even talk to it now when it enters the room. Dog tends to give it a lot of room. Still suspicious of it.

I was skeptical at first. Surprisingly, it works well. Even get another two weeks out of a furnace filter since begin using it.
 
For years I used a Hoover Windtunnel vacuum and it was good-enough (and cheap), but when it died and I replaced it with the same type, the newer one was a piece of junk and after a few uses started making a horrific noise.
So then I watched some comparison videos on YouTube and decided on a Shark Navigator (lightweight, swivels & anti-hair self cleaning rollbrush). I liked it a lot, so after I got my condo I got the exact same type. It is working nicely so far.
While traveling I bought/used a rechargeable mini cordless dust buster. It's good for the car and for tiny jobs in the house that aren't worth getting out the full size vacuum.
 
I bought this Shark Navigator in 2019, and I still like itl Before that I had bagged, still have my old bagged Hoover in the basement. The Shark is a bit heavy, but tha't okay, it picks up a lot of dust, cat hair, bits of debris the dog brings in from outdoors, etc.

I had a really lightweight Oreck years ago, it was too light to pick anything up, hardly any weight behind it. I ended up throwing it out, it also burned through belts for some reason, even with gentle use.

A Dyson series 8 for the hard floors and stairs. It’s really easy to use and I love how easy it is to tuck away. For the carpets, I have to haul the Oreck upstairs. It’s not the vacuuming that I hate, it’s the noise. My preference would be to never have carpeting again.
 
I have the shark navigator as well. Light weight, swivel, easy to empty. On my wood floors I sweep before I vacuum because of my big furry pup. I don't want to take the chance the fur would cause a blockage and burn it out. Then even more fun, mopping the laminate floors, steam cleaning the tile floor. I love the look of laminate but is quite the job to take care of it. I hope everything will hold up and I will not have to get new flooring again.

I'm done with dogs that shed. Our last dog happened to be a non-shedder and the lack of constant cleanup spoiled me. Our current dog is likewise a non-shredder - wouldn't even look at chihuahuas and other breeds that shed. Our house, furniture and clothes stay a lot cleaner even with less frequent, less intensive dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping.
