It seemed like your Sunshine law was going to be passed a couple of years ago. CA, OR, and WA were going to change to full time DST and so was BC. I’m still hoping.

Guess we'll see in November ....

Shown Here: Passed Senate (03/15/2022)Sunshine Protection Act of 2021

This bill makes daylight saving time the new, permanent standard time, effective November 5, 2023.

I'm one of those strange sorts who would highly prefer *standard* time year-round. I've always felt that way. The earlier darkness feels cozier and more "homey" to me. Nope, never was a fan of daylight savings. 🌜 Hmmm wonder if that's why Alaska has always fascinated me?

I like it the way it is, since I live in Colorado. Standard time in the winter means it's light when we go to work in the morning and still light when we're going home in the afternoon. We'd be going to work in the dark if we had daylight savings time in the winter. In the warmer months, (with daylight savings time) it's nice having an extra hour of sunlight in the evening to be able to do things outdoors.

For the hotter states like AZ and Texas, they probably want the sun to go down earlier in the evening so it cools off a little earlier. I can understand that. I think AZ already has abandoned daylight savings time for that reason.

So I say, leave it up to the individual states! :)

The only clock in my house that goes to Daylight time is the one in the laptop. I'm not changing any of the others, never do. Mother Nature and I are real-timing it. DST is like having a blanket too short so you cut off some of the top and sew it to the bottom.
That's exactly how I feel, and I wish I could do the same. Do you have trouble keeping track of appointments and other things that are scheduled? @oldaunt

Right now I'm going to bed at eight and getting up at four. I seem to have no choice in this. After the change, I'll be on a more civilised 9 to 5 schedule.
I'm just happy my dog and I won't have to make any more adjustments.
