What type of music do you listen to and who's your favorite band/singer?

We like just about all music, can't really get into that rap stuff, but we listen to country in the truck and on Alexa... When I am in the shop I like rock and Roll from the 50s to now... Crank it up in the shop... Now and then, when in a certain mood I can listen to classical and opera... I also love the blues and Jazz... Really don't have a favourite band or such... Love it all...

I couldn't give a definitive answer as to who my favourite singer is.. .tbh, I think I prefer to listen to the song rather than the singer..

I used to prize James Taylor over everyone.. or David gates from Bread.. but in reality I don't like ALL of their songs..

I'm a big folk music..country.. motown fan with a bit of pop.. ( not much).. thrown in if it's good..like George Ezra

Listen to all sorts of music depending on the piece. @Youngster, I also love Andrea Bocelli. Mostly listen to rock and symphonic rock. List is very long. Too many for a favorite. With YouTube, I am discovering a whole lot of new songs to enjoy and old favorites to listen again. Also, you get to see the old bands again (young and older). A lot of videos are like little movies too. :)

I like pretty much everything. I listen to classic Rock, Alternative and Dance mostly. Some of today's artists like Dua Lipa, Adam Lambert, Bruno Mars and Jessie Ware are pretty good as well. I'm not much into Country nor Rap.

My favorite artists are Stevie Nicks, Duran Duran, Culture Club, Pat Benatar and Journey. I've been to all their concerts.

I'll listen to anything....as for a favourite group....hard to choose one.
The Corrs,Pink Floyd and ELO would be right up there.
i'm going to the Folk Prom in July,a David Bowie tribute show in September and will be seeing The Australian Pink Floyd Show perform the whole of 'Dark Side of the Moon' in October.
And I recently saw 'The Swinging Blue' Jeans.
That's a bit varied.

I like country music the most, old stuff, current stuff. I love the twang! Don't have a favorite but I really enjoy Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Chris Young, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, but I like a lot of the older artists, too.

Always a tough question for me. I'll listen to most types as the mood hits.
Haven't found much I won't listen to.

Seems I listen to different types of Jazz the majority of my time.
Pat Metheny, Lee Ritenour, Jean Luc Ponty, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, etc.
On the singer side of things, enjoy Tom Waits, Leon Russell, Joni Mitchell, Donald Fagen, etc.

Like Johnny in 'The Wild One' when asked what he was rebelling against, his answer is like my taste
in Music. "What've You Got"!

I listen mostly to Motown and R & B. Some of my favorites are Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Seal, Roberta Flack, Dionne Warwick, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, The Commodores.
Great list! I forgot about Motown. We've seen the play twice and loved it. It features the music of Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and Diana Ross. There is also a Berry Gordy character in it.

I posted in Post #463 that I was listening to a mix called Motown Throwdown on my IPhone. If you like R&B, have you watched Unsung? I've seen almost every episode.

I appreciate most genres of music, even rap in certain songs sounds great to my ears. Pop, rock, new country, classical, blues, jazz,
There aren’t many types of music I don’t like but out of the ones I don’t like, I really don’t like. šŸ˜ Picking out my absolute favourite band or singer isn’t possible for me. There are too many great musicians for me to choose from. I forgot Motown.

Here’s a song by Adele. The version I listen to starts out with Adele singing, then the rappers start. It’s not for everyone but this is how I like listening to rap. Many great pop artists incorporate a rap version of their songs, some of which I like. This is one that I do.
Note: it has foul language so if that offends you, don’t listen.
