I wonder what happens to those people we see every day then no more.

As we are all getting older I think these thoughts cross our mind with friends and even those that we cross paths with through the internet. There have been several classmates of mine that have disappeared and I and other classmates don't know if they have just moved and just decided to not connect again or if they passed away. I try to not think of the worst.

Classmates ?.. do you live in the same area where you grew up, Carla ? :)

Sort of. At least less than an hour away from where I grew up. Several of my high school classmates are still around the area and even some of the local college classmates as well.
I have moved so many times to so many places and countries since I left school.. I can't imagine being in the same place all these years.. but then I sometimes envy the stability of it.

One of my best friends' at school, she went into an office environment with a local company near where we lived, when we left school.

She's just retired from there , and is still living in the house which belonged to her mother that she grew up in.. and where we as kids used to go and have tea with her mum and dad.. and sister.. it's just amazing to me..

I was born and raised in the city and back in the day it wasn't nearly as bad as it is today. My two older sisters and I got out and got my mama out and moved to a northern suburb of the city which we all have loved. My daughter also lives here as well. None of our immediate family including my sisters kids live in the city.

There are actually some nice areas of the city, but those areas are extremely expensive to live in.

Yes I was born and raised in the best and most expensive area of the city... I would love to go back and live there now.. but the past is a very different place and they do things differently there.. :(

Things are a lot different in the city where I grew up, especially in the area I grew up in. My high school is even different. Just last year my school tested that 75% of the students enrolled in the high school were reading and doing math at an elementary school level. That is extremely sad.
