You know when you were younger, some words came out of your mouth backwards, garbled and messed up. Because of that you either got complimented, shouted at or sent to your room until you learned them words properly.
Yup some of us had a tough time growing up...
Regardless, some of our earliest messed up words come back to the fore and you name a dish in its honour
. That was dinner tonight. Cabbage leftover were all diced up, out in a bag and into the freezer for more soups later on.
Here's the gloriously messed up "Garbage Soup"
1/4 piece of white cabbage diced up in small pieces
4 handfuls (about 1/4 cup frozen or canned corn niblets)
Or 2 medium carrots if no corns around...
1 can chopped tomatoes
Using empty can above, fill up with tomato juice
1 small onion diced
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 pork bouillon cube
Water to top
1 teaspoon of olive oil
Pasta to your taste cut in small pieces
Boil for 15 minutes to get your cabbage pieces are tender. Afterwards, add your pasta, cook about 5 minutes. Serve (about 4 people). Guaranteed you can't eat more than one bowl, it's filling but you'll drop a few pounds.
Cabbages are a complex fibrous vegetable that'll make your system work overtime to digest. Hence so many recommending various composition of the infamous "Cabbage Soup"
