Scam - Too Close For Comfort

Tonight I got a text that I know is a scam. Normally I’d just delete it without a second thought.

The other day I ordered from Apple. Today I had a delivery for something else via UPS.

The essence of the text was
UPS incoming parcel for JULES JONES (they had my real name)
from APPLE INC parcel …. $2.98 owing … contact etc

Wow. Just co-incidence? They obviously have my phone number, since that‘s where they sent the text.

$2.98 doesn't sound like much of a scam, you probably know they want your credit card numbers, so I would never call just a phone number. You may have ordered your item online. Two days ago, the wind wiped out my flag pole. I went online to search for a replacement. Now there are flag pole and flag ads everywhere. Same thing, only instead of ads, a scam, maybe???
But you can always check with UPS, online, using the tracking numbers, if you're really concerned, but oldaunt is spot on.

Those flag ads should disappear if you clear your browser cookies...
